I'm curious. For agencies & management companies of content creators, is it against the rules to straight up say they run the account? 👀
like, there are a ton of OF creators I've interacted with that are clearly just some agency pretending to be them. But, when I bring that thought up they deny it, act unaware or even get mad at me for suggesting it.
To be honest if people were upfront about not actually running their fan sites I wouldn't really see a problem. It's pretty much just an online store at that point with the same content, no harm done.
I know the idea though is to make it seem like you get an actual interaction with the creator thus luring in a bigger audience so being upfront ruins that.
Keeping it secret unfortunately just causes bigger issues though with parasocial relationships, scams, frustrated customers & a negative look on the creator.
So I was wondering, is there a rule that makes it like this? Cause I feel like the upfront method would work way better but I get it if it's not an option.
Running as many accounts as these creators do is a tOn of work so I don't hold it against any of them for getting help. But keeping up this predatory method of doing things just seems really unethical :/
