We found this #humpback #whalesong on our Barkley Canyon hydrophone today 🔊🐋. At this time of year we regularly hear males rehearsing the same song before heading south to woo potential mates. This song recorded in Nov 2019 is similar: nitter.cf/Ocean_Networks/status/… #knowtheocean
Happy hump(back) day! On a rainy day in the Strait of Georgia our @icListen hydrophones picked up a beautiful whalesong being performed by some far away humpbacks whales. Turn your volume all the way up to hear this charming whale rendition of "Singin' in the Rain"🔈#knowtheocean

Every family has a story! Killer whales are very social animals that live in stable, family-related groups called pods. Female whales are the leaders of their families and they often share food with their calves even after they have grown up! ow.ly/stZp30ijESa #FamilyDay
