Hey all - slowly but steadily, this community is growing, which is great! However, I think that there are plenty of toxinology young scientists that are not yet here. It would be great, if you could spread this network in your bubble so that we can have as many of us here as possible. Once achieved, we can start thinking about content etc and develop from there :)
Cheers Tim
Ps. Here goes the paper that @CDawson171, @SLaxme, @DammMaik and I wrote last year discussing the needs and the situation of toxinology ECRs sciencedirect.com/science/ar…

Happy to learn that the Union Cabinet, Chaired by Shri @narendramodi, has approved @DBTIndia's ‘BioE3 Policy for Fostering High Performance Biomanufacturing’. Glad that our suggestions as part of Sectoral Expert Committee at @IITIndore served as a reference in formulating this.
Thrilled to share that I've successfully defended my PhD thesis! Huge thanks to my advisor, @anaturalist for his unwavering support. Everyone who helped me get through this journey - your support has meant the world.
@LabVenomics @iiscbangalore @CES_IISc
Today I will be defending my PhD thesis on the evolutionary ecology of Indian snake venoms. Please scan the QR code to join online and share your thoughts. @LabVenomics @anaturalist @CES_IISc @iisc

Senji Laxme R R (@SLaxme) is a PhD student focused on the toxin diversity of medically important Indian snakes!
Their talk "Development of Recombinant Antibodies for Snakebite Detection and Therapeutics" is in our Technologies and Applications for Venoms Session #GRSVenom24
I had the privilege of presenting our latest research on antibody discovery against Indian snake venom toxins at @grcvenom seminar #GRS.

A huge thanks to @anaturalist for encouraging me to participate and all colleagues from @LabVenomics for their support. Thanks to Carl Storm Diversity Fellowship and PMRF for the funding support.
Looking forward to a productive week at #GRCVenom24 listening to great science from the Venom community.
Thrilled to share that a major chapter of my PhD thesis on the evolutionary ecology of Indian snake venoms is now published, after nearly 5 years of hard work. Immensely grateful to @anaturalist for the trust and support. #Science #Research #PhDLife
Our paper on the evolutionary ecology of Indian snake venoms is published in @BMCBiology. We describe how biotic factors and life history traits (e.g., diet, sex, development) shape the venoms of India's clinically most relevant snakes: the spectacled cobra and Russell's Viper.
Thanks to @GerardNMartin for his immense support. Also thankful to my colleagues and coauthors @SuyogKhochare and @siddharth1707

Researchers at @CES_IISc and @scrippsresearch have developed an antibody that neutralises a potent neurotoxin produced by highly toxic snakes of Elapidae family, which includes the cobra, king cobra, krait and black mamba.

Trying to support snakebite management, one antibody at a time. One step closer to "universal" antivenom.
Check out our paper on development of synthetic human antibody against long-chain neurotoxins published in @ScienceTM
