We wonder if Tower Bridge has ever opened before to allow a giant turd through before?
If we can achieve public ownership, the water beneath it will have fewer turds in it.

There's a rather impressive poo coming through the #ThamesBarrier this morning.

Let's be honest. Repealing a ban on public ownership of water is not the same as enforcing an end to privatisation.
Until we see evidence otherwise, this is little more than kicking the can down the road for another ten years. We can't wait that long.

If you ever need a laugh, read @Ofwat's bio.

Three more days to sign and add your name to the water referendum petition. Closes 1st October.
The gov petition that got 65MPs to speak at its debate and HM Gov to change from 'no way we are ending privatisation' to 'the Gov's priorities must be the public's priorities!'

Southampton Council declared a vote of no confidence in @SouthernWater after finding "levels of faecal bacteria 140 times the limit for designated bathing water status" in the River Itchen.
Good for them. Disgusting, as ever, from @SouthernWater.

Sounds awful lot like @thameswater and every other water company.
Enough is, apparently, not enough when it comes to water companies robbing us to destroy the environment. And we'd love to know why.
Enough is enough.
For years, people have been expected to put up with Avanti’s cancellations, delays, overcrowding, and a service that has failed them time and time again.
So my Labour government is bringing Avanti West Coast into public ownership at the earliest opportunity in March next year.
That means passengers, not shareholders, will come first.
More investment, fewer delays, and a renewed focus on getting the basics right.
We're putting essential services back in public hands and building a railway that actually works for the people who use it.

"Complaints to watchdog about water firms soar."
Don't you love it when the watchdog thinks that it's people's anger at the water industry that is driving up complaints.
What he meant to say of course that it's community groups like @SOSWhitstable, @MattStaniek, @CleanIlkley and @WindrushWasp doing his bloody job for him, making people aware of the miserable state of the water industry, the ripoff, the extortion, the criminality.
Why is it that community groups have to do this when it's the watchdog's job?
