Today was one of those travel days… 😤✈️ #Frankfurt airport strike turned what should have been a normal trip into total chaos. I had 4 flights in one day, across 4 countries. All flights with @lufthansa got cancelled… and everything collapsed after that. I spent 7 hours at the Riyadh airport, running between counters, talking to different airlines, trying to find any solution. Calling customer service Lufthansa No answers. Finally, they put me on a flight from Riyadh to Rome. I thought: OK, Star Alliance, I’m #United1K, #StarAllianceGold this should be fine. It wasn’t. No priority boarding (Group 6, almost last). Middle seat unless I paid extra. Lounge access denied after explaining I'm eligible I got access Staff didn’t understand or recognize alliance benefits at all. Honestly, what’s the point of @ITAAirways joining Star Alliance if Star Alliance Gold from other airlines means nothing? Loyalty should travel with the passenger not stop at the logo What’s the point of loyalty, status, and alliances if they disappear the moment things go wrong? Travel is already tiring. 📷 India e-Visa Rejected Again 📷📷 Despite holding a French passport, my India e-Visa application has been rejected 3 times : 2 times in August 2024, and now 1 more time for September 2025. Each time, I received a follow-up email requesting: Purpose of visit, places I plan to visit, and details of accompanying persons Current and previous professional details, including employer contact info Correct mobile number of Indian reference, as the one provided was unreachable Complete travel itinerary I submitted everything within 24 hours: Purpose: Visiting Delhi and Bengaluru Hotel bookings Air India flight confirmations Local Indian contact Full itinerary Professional details Yet, the final remark was: “No/Wrong response to our e-mail within 48 hours. You may apply for Regular/Official Visa at nearest Indian Mission/Embassy abroad.” Has anyone else faced this issue recently? Is there a clear explanation or updated policy? Why is the e-Visa process so opaque despite fulfilling all requirements? I’m genuinely trying to understand what went wrong. ✈️ Frequent Flyer Frustration – A Tale of Two Airlines ✈️ I fly over 700 hours a year, with more than 150 flights, including 130+ international ones. I hold 1K status with @united and usually travel with @staralliance partners. But recently, I’ve been questioning the value of that loyalty. I booked a flight with @AirCanada , and to change to an aisle seat, I was asked to pay $60 USD, even at the check-in counter, they said “not possible unless paid,” despite my elite status. Now here’s the contrast: I flew @ITAAirways for the first time ever, in economy, with no frequent flyer status. I asked at the counter if I could change my seat. The agent smiled, changed all three of my flights for free, and said, “Welcome.” Imagine that—ITA treated me better as a first-time flyer than some @staralliance members do after years of loyalty. If Star Alliance wants to keep its most frequent travelers, it might be time to rethink how elite members are treated across all partner airlines. Had a terrible experience on my flight from Brussels to Yaounde on 09 March 2025. My kosher meal on flight TK667 was spoiled, causing food poisoning. Despite reporting it to the crew, Turkish Airlines hasn't taken my complaint seriously. Claim Number: 12539636. Under U.S. and international aviation laws, airlines have a duty to ensure passenger safety, including food safety. Failure to address food poisoning incidents can lead to legal consequences and compensation claims for affected passengers. I have all the details, including the food number, date, and photos. Additionally, I reported that the airline does not cater well to people who eat kosher. For my return flight, despite ordering my meal well in advance, it was not served.
