The new SDA Mission statement calls to proclaim “the everlasting Gospel of the Three Angels’ Messages”. This terminology is alien to the NT. As Adventists we understand our mission in the context of the 3AM to proclaim the everlasting Gospel of Jesus Christ! #GCSession
The fact that we distinguish deacons and deaconesses in church not only linguistically but also in terms of their competences and functions (women can’t perform the same diaconal tasks) is more than embarrassing. It is another expression of a discriminatory attitude.

A theological exaggeration of rather simple and obvious things creates more problems than solutions. Experience shows clearly that leadership functions and competencies are not a question of gender. In Mt 22:15ff Jesus argued based on common sense. Why can’t we? #GCSession
Can it be that in our approach to Mission we separated the Messenger from the Message? We convince people to accept Jesus as the Saviour. But acknowledging is not following. Embracing Jesus means embracing HIS message of God’s Love and Peace and to embody it in the here and now.
Church is Not about worship ceremonies or policies but about following Christ. „Save us from the error of wishing to admire Thee instead of being willing to follow Thee and to resemble Thee” (Kierkegaard).
Funerals tell a life story. Stories shape identity: our understanding where we come from, who we are. Becoming a Christian is not adding the story of Salvation to my story but rather accepting to let my life be narrated by God. He’s the author, my story merges with His story.
The GC Administration of the SDA Church is recommending to warn and reprimand Unions that are not in rebellion but follow a legitimate interpretation of God‘s Word, who highlight and embrace the equality of men and women and who are faithful to their constituencies!!??
