The Presidio is already amazing and perfect, but I think the following could be added:
- A standard 400m track — if it was like at the Eastern end of Crissy Field it would be electric
- A musical performance venue, maybe up next to Rob Hill Campground d
- A beautiful public library in the woods
I just took a trail run in the hills and am experiencing dangerously high levels of endorphins. I love California, America, my family, and all of you! Feeling very lucky and grateful for the many gifts of the Earth.
.@stripepress is so awesome -- it makes me want to read more and just generally be more of an intellectual.
I appreciate all tech companies and tech people who express this clear love of learning and deep thought! More of this kind of thing please!

Democrats must make cities work. We have no one to blame but ourselves. Cities are where Democratic Party idealism meets cold hard truth. Real solutions require understanding hard problems at a deep level - not pandering. Suicidal empathy will simply destroy our cities. Politicians need to spend more time figuring out how to make an impact in the job they have rather than the job they want. Press has to call balls and strikes rather than pander to subscribers or a reporter’s personal politics. The solutions won’t be found in DC. We have to solve our own problems. Don’t let guilt or misguided compassion force you to support policies that don’t work. Intention isn’t as import as results.
A lot of my favorite movies are “professors or academic scientists have to leave the ivory tower and fight to save the World”:
- Imitation Game
- Oppenheimer
- Contact
- The Good Shepherd
- Don’t Look Up
San Francisco History 101 🌁🌉
Cool Gray City of Love
Season of the Witch
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance (in its own way)
What is said to be hard about parenting:
- Sleep
- Diapers
- Tantrums
What is genuinely hard:
- Car seats
- Being in charge of safety for someone with no physical fear of injury
- Negotiating someone else’s sugar consumption for 18 years

It was great getting to share our vision, and the progress we’re making towards it, with Kelly Cloonan at The Wall Street Journal: wsj.com/business/retail/excl…
I am super proud of this work … it hard to do and I think it’s really matters to the industry and its various stakeholders ⚡️🤓👇🏻

I increasingly love this take from @ericvishria
We are seeing such an explosion of capabilities and innovation that I think it’s quite likely it all works
Attracting and embracing smart, ambitious immigrants is a big part of what has made America so successful. Every tech headline is like “Elon Musk works with Jensen Huang to provide AI to Stripe and Patrick Collison to… the startup is backed by Sequoia and Doug Leone” — Silicon Valley would be so much less without the many immigrants who have done amazing things here.
I think we (America, people in general) are very lucky to have @DarioAmodei, someone very smart who is clearly trying extremely hard to do the right thing, in the seat he’s in right now.

I love SF. LA has the beaches and my family, but SF has the optimism. So many down to earth people doing great things.
This is obviously wrong for the President to do, very dangerous to the first amendment, and just unacceptable. Horrible behavior from Trump.
