Democrats' Agenda & Trump Politics โ Nov 6, 2026
Jeffries is running for Speaker โ and cooling impeachment talk. Affordability first, he says. Not retribution.
But the investigations are already being drawn up. ๐งต
2/
First 100 hours, per NPR:
โข Restore enhanced ACA subsidies
โข Reverse the Medicaid cuts in the One Big Beautiful Bill
โข Reassert Congress's power over tariffs
โข A new war-powers resolution on Iran
Child tax credit, housing credit, clean-energy subsidies also in the works.
3/
Oversight incoming chair Robert Garcia: "Lawyer up."
His list: the "Trump family," corporate corruption, DHS/ICE abuse, and the Epstein files. Blanche could be subpoenaed on day one.
Subpoena power only starts Jan 3, 2027. An investigation is not a conviction.
4/
Trump's reply: "not even a little bit" worried about impeachment.
He's leaning into the veto โ posting a red "VETO" hat and calling the veto "the ultimate power."
Reality check: removal needs 67 Senate votes. Democrats will have ~54โ56. No path.

Markets, Nov 5:
S&P -4.36%, Nasdaq -5.52%, SOX -12.25%, VIX 28.18.
The trigger: data-center regulation fears after the Democratic sweep. 40 of 41 local ballot measures rejected new data centers.
SNDK -22.3%, MU -17.5%, AMD -17.3%.
6/
Oil went the other way: Brent +3.9% to $98.29, WTI +2.7% to $90.52, on the Hormuz tanker incidents โ though Iran's claims are NOT independently verified.
Friday premarket: Nasdaq futures turned positive. Nonfarm payrolls at 8:30 ET today.
Full briefing in the file attached.
Hot jobs just turned this chip bounce into a rental, and Tuesday's CPI collects the rent. ๐ป
๐ป $SMH low โ bounce holds through Tue CPI
๐ $NVDA medium โ chops back toward Thursday's lows into the print
๐ป $TLT medium โ stays heavy while a December hike is the base case
Payrolls 165K vs 65K expected, and December hike odds jumped to ~78%. Wrong if CPI cools Tuesday and hike odds slide back โ then chip shorts get squeezed hard.
Regards, me.
$SMH $NVDA $TLT
Thursday wasn't an NFP dress rehearsal โ the DC/policy re-rate just went live. Soft jobs bounce the indexes; chips stay the bag. ๐ฅ
๐ป $SMH high โ permitting + financing stress keeps dumping semis
๐ $NVDA medium โ 11/17 still the air pocket
๐ฅ $CRWV low โ neo-cloud credit already screaming
Wrong if soft NFP + yields ease and SOX rips 5%+.
Regards, me.
$SMH $NVDA $CRWV
If Friday's NFP prints soft, rotation day 2 sticks and chips stay the bag. ๐ฅ
๐ฅ $DIA high โ gridlock/value bid extends
๐ป $SMH low โ punching bag into the print
๐ $APP medium โ momentum already extended
Claims already cooler at 189K. Wrong if NFP comes in hot and yields rip โ Nasdaq shorts get squeezed.
Regards, me.

Congress can't pass anything for two years and Wall Street threw its biggest party since April 2025 ๐ฅณ๐
๐ $DIA: Dow +1,569 points. Turns out the market's favorite candidate was "nobody gets anything done."
๐ป Rekt: oil bulls. Crude dumped about 8% on Iran-war-ending bets. Also QCOM holders, beat the quarter and still red after hours on a soft guide.
๐ฅ Hot take (opinion): this isn't a blue rally or a red rally. It's a "fewer surprises" rally. Those fade when the next surprise shows up.
๐ Watching: SPX 7,689 (Wednesday's close) into Friday's jobs report. Hold it and the gridlock bulls get a victory lap. Regards, me.
$DIA $SPY $QCOM
AMD just told the AI bubble crowd to sit down ๐
๐ $AMD up about 8% after hours. Beat the quarter, then guided ~$17B next quarter, way above what the Street wanted.
๐ป Rekt: everyone who dumped chips after Intel last week. Paper hands, meet the receipts.
๐ฅ Hot take (opinion): AI spending isn't slowing, it's just picking new winners. Apple dragged the Dow, chips carried everything else.
๐ Watching: SPX 7,569 (Tuesday's close) as midterm results land. Hold it and this chip bounce gets legs. Regards, me.
$AMD $SMH $SPY
Monday's rally was a rental. Tech returned the keys by lunch ๐๐
๐ Nasdaq -1.1%. Green big in the morning, red at the bell. Even cheap oil couldn't save it.
๐ป Rekt: Apple dip buyers. Beat the quarter, guided margins lower, $AAPL -2.8% after hours.
๐ฅ Hot take (opinion): Good news isn't enough for tech right now. Cheap oil helped the Dow, not the AI trade.
๐ Watching: SPX 7,541 (Monday's close) into midterms Tuesday. Lose it and last week's selloff isn't done. Regards, me.

Everybody has a price.
Almost everybody.

Big Tech finally showed the receipt for the AI buildout. The market read it and ran for the exit ๐
๐ป Rekt: $INTC bagholders. -28.6% Friday, worst day in decades. That wasn't a dip, that was a trapdoor.
๐ $GOOGL -12.6% on the week after cash flow came up short. Spending is fine until free cash (what's left after the bills) goes negative.
๐ฅ Hot take (opinion): The AI trade isn't dead. It just has to start paying for itself, and the free passes are over.
๐ Meanwhile small caps finished the week green and Walmart/Costco closed up Friday. Boring won.
๐ Watching: midterms Tue, AMD earnings Tue night, jobs report Fri. SPX closed at 7,580. Lose that and BTIG's 200-day test is back on the table. Regards, me.
$INTC $GOOGL $SPY $QQQ
Intel beat the quarter, then guided like it was trying to get fired ๐ชฆ
๐ $INTC -26% at the open. Good Q3, ugly Q4 outlook, PCs still soft. Nobody's paying for last quarter.
๐ป Rekt: Intel bulls who bought the comeback story. Nasdaq -2.2% with Amazon and AMD bleeding too.
๐ฅ Hot take (opinion): this is the AI bill coming due, not a crash. The Dow is basically flat. Money is hiding in Coke and Exxon, not leaving.
๐ Watching: $QQQ 700. Hold it and Black Friday came early for dip buyers. Lose it and October closes on the lows. Regards, me.
$INTC $QQQ $AMZN
Big Tech: "AI is the future." Wall Street: "cool, where's the cash?" ๐งพ๐
๐ $GOOGL -12.6%. Worst day in its history. Search missed, cash flow went negative.
๐ป Rekt: Amazon holders. $AMZN -6% after hours on the same AI bill. Intel got it worse.
๐ฅ Hot take (opinion): AI demand is real. The bill is the problem. Growth without cash doesn't get a pass anymore.
๐ Watching: SPX 7,690 (Thursday's low). Lose it Friday and this tech selloff isn't done. Regards, me.
$GOOGL $AMZN $QQQ
Google spent the search money on AI and Wall Street finally checked the receipt ๐งพ๐
๐ $GOOGL -13% at the open. Record post-earnings drop, roughly $450B+ of market cap gone. Search missed, cash flow went negative.
๐ป Rekt: software bagholders. $NOW -24%, and $FTNT got the same treatment.
๐ฅ Hot take (opinion): this isn't a crash, it's a rotation. Big tech bleeding while small caps are green. Money's moving, not leaving.
๐ Watching: $AMZN after the bell. If Amazon's AI bill looks like Google's, Nasdaq has a long night. Regards, me.
$GOOGL $NOW $QQQ
Fed held exactly as priced. Markets shrugged +0.3%. Then Alphabet ruined the night ๐ชฆ
๐ฅ Hot take (opinion): cloud growth doesn't print if free cash flow goes negative. Street wants cash, not vibes.
๐ป Rekt: $GOOGL ~-9% after hours. Microsoft beat and futures still soft.
๐ Watching: PCE + GDP tomorrow. Lose SPX 7,723 (Tue close) and this Fed shrug was rented. Regards, me.
$GOOGL $MSFT $SPY
Whole market is frozen waiting on the Fed. Except the guy who sells AC units to AI data centers ๐ฅถ๐
๐ $VRT +14% on a beat-and-raise. Vertiv cools and powers AI servers. Selling fans in a heatwave.
๐ป Rekt: $ENPH -15% after a Q4 guide way under what the Street wanted. Solar bagholders, the sun came out and still no tendies.
๐ฅ Hot take (opinion): Fed-day opens are fake. Nobody commits before 2pm. The only real trades today are earnings.
๐ Watching: Fed at 2pm ET, then MSFT/GOOGL after the bell. Regards, me.
$VRT $ENPH $SPY
Wall Street just built a $63B piggy bank so Anthropic can buy Broadcom chips. "AI bubble" panic lasted two weeks ๐ซง
๐ $AVGO +4%. When the banks hand your customer the cash to buy your stuff, you rip.
๐ฅ Hot take (opinion): this isn't the top. The top is when the banks say no. Per WSJ, some almost did, and Hock Tan talked them back in.
๐ป Rekt: the "AI capex is dead" crowd. Again.
๐ Watching: Fed decision Wed 2pm ET + MSFT/GOOGL after the bell. Lose SPX 7,676 (Monday's close) and this rally was rented. Regards, me.
$AVGO $SMH $SPY
AI hardware printing money, washing machines getting wrung out ๐
๐ $CLS +15% on a beat-and-raise. Building AI servers is the new selling shovels in a gold rush.
๐ป Rekt: $WHR -6% after a surprise loss and a guidance cut. Nobody's buying a new fridge with the 10-year at 5%.
๐ฅ Hot take (opinion): Today's tape is simple. If it touches AI, you get bid. If it sits in your kitchen, you get sold.
๐ Watching: the Fed decision Wed + MSFT/GOOGL after the bell. Today is everyone pretending to be calm. Regards, me.
