Meet Myai Hoang!
With a passion for maternal and child health, Myai hopes to use data and research to identify gaps in care and improve outcomes for mothers and babies.
Her advice to future students? Make connections early, stay curious and learn from those around you.
Much to celebrate at @USFCOPH! Today’s State of the College highlighted record enrollment, nearly 5,000 students, 500 employees and continued investment in our college. Thank you to our entire COPH community for making this progress possible.

Outstanding work from @usfcoph researchers Drs. Noah Sather and John Adams. Their discovery of a previously unknown vulnerability in P. vivax malaria could help advance vaccine development and prevent recurring infections. Congratulations to the team! usf.edu/health/news/2026/usf…
As locally transmitted dengue cases are identified in Florida, awareness and prevention remain important.
Drs. Kristi Miley and Juan David Ramírez-González and I spoke with USF Health News about what Tampa Bay residents should know: usf.edu/health/news/2026/den…
Today, we remember the lives lost on 9/11/2001, and honor all who answered the call to help. We thank Congress for supporting the WTC Health Program and urge the Administration to fully fund it for survivors and responders. May we carry forward a spirit of service and compassion.
Floridians are accustomed to mosquitoes. What we are less accustomed to is seeing dengue fever in our own neighborhoods.
With local transmission occurring in Tampa Bay, I shared what residents and health care providers should know in the Tampa Bay Times.

There is always a special energy that comes with the first week of classes. To our returning students, welcome back. To those joining the COPH for the first time, we're glad you're here. I hope this semester challenges you, inspires you and reminds you why public health matters.
It was great to see our students back as we kicked off a new academic year.
The day was a chance to welcome students across the college. I also enjoyed joining the Department of Biostatistics and Data Science for a breakout session during the graduate welcome.
Go Bulls!

Our alumni play an important role in the continued success of the COPH. Tomorrow, the COPH Alumni Society leadership will gather to plan the year ahead. If you're looking for a way to stay connected and give back to the college, I encourage you to get involved.
The COPH Alumni Society leadership is coming together this Saturday for its annual planning retreat to brainstorm new initiatives, events and ways to keep our alumni community connected throughout the year.

Thanks, Jill, for these tips. It’s not the year for Tampa Bay, but here are fun facts:
The Buccaneers won their first Super Bowl in 2003 (Super Bowl XXXVII), defeating the Oakland Raiders 48–21 under head coach Jon Gruden.
Keep in mind that the Bucs became one of the few NFL teams to remain undefeated in all of their Super Bowl appearances, winning both of their trips (Baltimore Ravens and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2 each), along with the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints (1 each).
