@SWWHSA grad with an Associate’s Degree through the @GWTweets Early College Program. He is a @nationalmerit, @OSSEDC, & @possefoundation Scholar. He served as Councilmember at GWU’s Integrity and Conduct Council and spoke at the @CatoInstitute on economic inequalities. Akesh founded his school’s Space Club and interned at @NasaGoddard. Thrilled we were able to restore the two proposed cut positions at @SWWHSA and Hardy Middle School! Thank you to the community who came together to ensure our students have what they need and to my colleagues for your support.
Today, I'm moving two amendments to the budget to restore critical teaching positions at @SWWHSA & ensure funding for a pilot I started last year for security & custodian supports at @ Garrison & Banneker.
Our students deserve every opportunity to thrive, learn, and be safe.
