You hear the word “accountability” all the time in sports. When it’s demanded by a manager, it often leads to a big payoff. Remember a game between the Mets and Brewers at Citi Field in late August? Cooper Pratt, two months into his major league career was pulled from the game by Pat Murphy because, having failed to execute a sacrifice bunt earlier in the game, Pratt did not run hard out of the box on a pop up near the right field line that fell between three Mets fielders. Pratt should have been at second base, but his lack of hustle forced him to hold on at first. Murphy would not tolerate that mistake, especially from a rookie. Well, look at Pratt and the Brewers now. That’s how you establish a winning culture, whether running hard out of the batter’s box is someone’s “cup of tea” or not.

Can’t you hear him now? “Sure fellas wait until I’m not around to win it all.” Which might be the most Bob Uecker thing ever!
Wish he was here to celebrate with his Brewers but know he's looking down smiling and may even be speechless.... congrats to the Milwaukee Brewers. CHAMPS!

Sounds like Whiteyball to me. #STLCards
The Rays believe in Strike one. They hit the FB. They run the bases well. They play good defense. Bottom half of order know who they are and execute. Move runners if they need to. More importantly they don't strike out!! Sometimes people complicate this game. They keep it simple

Put this on PPV. #STLCards
Imagine going to remove Bob Gibson from a playoff game in the 5th inning. They’d have to roll you back to the dugout in a coffin.

He can only be in rotation if he’s going to be a three inning starter. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻. #STLCards
The #STLCards still believe Matthew Liberatore can succeed as a starter Chaim Bloom said Libby’s season sparked one of the most interesting discussions during a staff meeting that covered multiple players The frustration was seeing encouraging signs that didn’t translate into the ERA they expected They want him preparing as a starter while they work on adjustments to get more consistent results Do you see Liberatore as part of the 2027 rotation? 🤔

It’s not even up for debate. #STLCards
Bob Gibson posted a 1.12 ERA in 1968 with 28 complete games and 13 shutouts, and he walked away with 3,117 career strikeouts. Drop that competitiveness into today's game. Does he still dominate?

Doesn’t consider himself a Minor League player. Has he looked at his stats lately? Sheesh. #STLCards
Nolan Gorman admittedly didn't respond well to getting demoted, saying, “I was pretty miserable. I don’t consider myself a Minor League player whatsoever. I think there is a lot of good I can do up here." He's hoping for another shot from the #STLCards. roundtable.io/sports/mlb/car…

Matthew Liberatore every night. #STLCards
Matthew Liberatore tonight: 4.1 IP 4 H 4 ER 2 BB 3 K’s ERA is now 5.50. Was nearly flawless through 4 and once again unravels in the 5th. If the Cardinals are serious about making a run, not sure how many more starts Libby should have. I’d have him in the pen.

Sal Stewart is tremendously undervalued on the sports card market. We are essentially watching the second coming of Albert Pujols. Leading the league in RBIs. Over 30 homers. All as a rookie.
