โก๏ธ 129 DAYS IN SHELTER โ TOO LONG โ TIME IS RUNNING OUT
โก๏ธ MIA IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - she is not thriving in the care center and continues to display challenging behavior during interactions. She is extremely intelligent and high energy, and needs to expend energy constructively with interactive play sessions 3-4X/day. In addition to playtime, this cat would also benefit from mental exercise from activities such as puzzle toys/games, lick mats, or clicker training. Without providing activity for her mind and body, the cat may react with rough play, potentially resulting in bite/scratch incidents. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption.๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ
What my friends at ACC say about me: Mia interacts with the observer and appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting, but she has a tendency to play rough, and has a very high energy level. We recommend that she go to a home with adopters with a moderate level of cat experience preferred and be well counseled in her history of sporadic incidents of pouncing on and stalking legs, ankles, and feet. Her behavior remains suitable for an adopter with an average amount of experience, provided the adopter is aware of these behaviors and is able to comfortably manage them- committing to a consistent feeding and play schedule and behavior modification plan to mange her energy levels and play needs. Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy! I am looking for a home with a patient person. I would do best in a home with only adult humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them. Playtime is essential! I love climbing tall cat trees and having fun with interactive toys! I am not one to sit still! I will flourish in a home with someone that will keep me mentally and physically active! I love to play and will need appropriate toys and positive outlets for my energy. A volunteer writes: This is Mia's world and we're living in it. Unfortunately for all of us, however, Mia's world has gotten smaller and she isn't always sure how to adapt to this one as she needs. An active kitty who takes joy in managing the moving parts, shelter life seems to have left her feeling a bit confused. Mia loves to play and likes to have many opportunities to do so. She loves pets and cuddles until she doesn't and she has the kind of kitty communication that takes a little extra patience and time to understand and appreciate. She's looking for someone who will welcome and love her for all that she is and is hoping that'll be you. โค๏ธ ๐ปโค๏ธ ๐ปโค๏ธ ๐ป

What my friends at ACC say about me: I'm an independent kitty who likes to do my own thing. I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace. I love to be loved, but on my own terms! Let's brush up on some feline body language together! A volunteer writes: Baby has so much awesomeness going for him. He's handsome, hearty, and loves his treats (a bowl of tuna, yum!). Not long after he arrived at the Care Center, he accepted soft pettings from staffers and returned the affection with slow blinks. He enjoys batting around pipe cleaner toys and is by turns active and then a couch potato. Baby would benefit from a new pet parent who speaks cat and can sense when he might be overstimulated, yet also understand when he needs some play time to work out any extra energy. He's people oriented, but he also has an independent streak. We don't know exactly what happened in his previous home, but we're hoping that blemish on his record won't hold him back from finding the family he deserves. Arrange a meet-and-greet with our misunderstood Baby today. โค๏ธ ๐ปโค๏ธ ๐ปโค๏ธ ๐ป

โก๏ธ BAMBI IS ON THE EPL FOR MEDICAL REASONS - He is a sweet but nervous cat who is not eating consistently in shelter. We suspect this is due to severe periodontal disease and stress. He needs a dentistry with extractions and a low stress environment to recover. NOT EATING/APPETITE ISSUES ARE A DEATH SENTENCE IN THE SHELTER This evaluation/diagnosis means that BAMBI will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption.๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ
What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me. I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace. I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you. I would do best in a home without very tiny humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them. Bambi tolerates attention and petting but appears to be moderately fearful or stressed in the shelter. He will likely need time to warm up to his new home. โค๏ธ ๐ปโค๏ธ ๐ปโค๏ธ ๐ป

โก๏ธ ๐๐ 1ST Chance on Emergency Placement List โ VERY URGENT โ ๐๐ ๐ฑ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฑ
โก๏ธ 44 DAYS IN SHELTER โ TOO LONG โ TIME IS RUNNING OUT
โก๏ธ PROFESSOR IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - While social in the shelter with familiar caretakers, Professor has a bite/scratch history. Due to his stress levels, it is in his best interest to move out of the kennel environment and into a stable home as quickly as possible. He would do best in a home with adopters who are willing to give him plenty of time and space to adjust, and who have experience with helping a fearful cat adjust to strangers. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption.๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ
What my friends at ACC say about me: My purr motor is always running! I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home. Professor is laying on top of his den, front paws hanging over the edge as he observes the room around him. When the kennel door is opened, he leans forward to sniff the assessor's hand, allowing and leaning into petting on the head and cheeks. He is able to be coaxed down from the top of the den with a squeeze up, quickly beginning to eat it as the assessor holds it out in front of him. Professor appears a bit unsure of his current environment, tensing, body rippling, and looking around the room as noises occur or as other cats begin to meow. He tolerates all petting, tail held high in a question mark position. Professor is slowly coaxed out of the kennel, hesitantly stepping out and lip licking. He is able to be easily picked up, remaining calm and purring when he is held. When he is placed back into the kennel, he remains at the front, continuing to allow and lean into all further petting and attention. Although Professor is social, tolerant, and friendly with handler in the shelter, he does have a bite/scratch history in his previous home that may require further investigation before placement in a home. โค๏ธ ๐ปโค๏ธ ๐ปโค๏ธ ๐ป

What my friends at ACC say about me: I have lived with cats in my previous home. I would like a home where there is another cat that I can play with! I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace. I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you. A volunteer writes: If we asked Bubble Tea (and she could tell us) she'd probably say that she isn't asking for a lot. A place to snuggle up and think her thoughts, dream her dreams and be her best kitty self with a family who supports that quest, albeit from a bit of a distance. And herein lies the caveat to what Bubble Tea so earnestly asks. Reportedly friendly and outgoing with other cats, Bubble Tea tends to shy away from human friends. She plays gently and enjoys sitting at a window, but might not be the type to twirl into your lap for pets. We've heard Bubble Tea is curious about other cats and plays gently with them as well. She's hoping you'll give her a chance. Bubble Tea tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent and may need time to warm up to her new home. โค๏ธ ๐ปโค๏ธ ๐ปโค๏ธ ๐ป
