Are people morons captured by a false consciousness entrenched in racial prejudice? Yes. But people don’t understand we’re not like Mississippi economically. We’re the 25th largest economy, and SO MUCH money has come into Huntsville and Tuscaloosa.
Alabama is so backwards that they are going to choose a football coach who can’t name the three branches of government over a guy who prosecuted the KKK

We have the lowest property taxes, the cheapest fertile land, beautiful nature. People have manners. Relative to the rest of the country, things seem to be going as good here as they could be. I’m not surprised people attribute that to the current regime.

Objectively a great thing. You’ve lost the plot if you’re criticizing this from the left.
The Talmud teaches that anyone who sustains one soul, has sustained an entire world. For generations, Jewish New Yorkers have sustained our city. Today, we are launching the first-ever municipal Strategy to Combat Antisemitism. Together, we will ensure Jewish New Yorkers are safe and celebrated. We will invest in their protection, their history, and their future. Our safety and our thriving are tied together.

“Democrat Super-pacs…” *shows three of the most castigated people associated with the Democratic Party who most insiders want out.*
Wow, I wonder what shows Tim Dillon could be talking about here

I’ve talked to major fundraisers and Dem insiders, they’re not nearly as insidious or cunning as one might think. In fact, they tend to seem air headed.

The history of thought is the history of people rationalizing their priors (often their material interests) which are entrenched in particular historical circumstances. The priors are set, the narratives give them operational meaning.
Palantir founder Peter Thiel: "If you're evil, you're not bad. You're actually maybe kind of good."

RT @aufek: There is hardly anything more beautiful than sencerity. God willing I will some day I'll become fully liberated from cynicism. h…

There are two stories: ‘Hero Fares Forth’ and ‘Stranger Comes to Town.’ But ‘Stranger Comes to Town’ is just ‘Hero Fares Forth’ from the town’s point of view. “Rightly seen, all stories are one,” as Cormac McCarthy writes in THE CROSSING.

The UN is such a cool organization.

The only reason conservative zoomers “hate Obama” is because they internalized their parents racial anxiety whenever they saw them watching Fox News in the early 2010s. That’s it. Historically, one of the most average regimes in American history.

“Autistic people are immune to propaganda” is the most hilarious narrative I’ve seen on this site. Just because it’s not CNN doesn’t mean the hateful memes you consume 24/7 aren’t artificially manufactured to shape your worldview.

A good way to know someone is misguided is if they imbue a category like a gender or race with moral agency

I think Anthropologists will look back on the popularity of people wearing necklaces of their first initial as the ultimate expression of end stage liberalism’s apotheosis of the self. Self-referential, ornate dog collars go where pendants and religious symbols used to be.

There’s only a couple of cities which produce ensouled people in this country and Tuscaloosa is one of them

We’ve been tasked with living a dignified and graceful life in the face of a cold and inhospitable universe which seeks to kill us. Our failures are unremarkable, our achievements- sublime.

I can no longer impose meaning onto the world. It’s far too complex, far too distant.
