Depressing NEWS from Financial markets...
Big Tech concluded a bruising week as disappointing earnings and mounting concerns over AI spending fueled a market rout.
The Nasdaq tumbled 2.9% Friday, with Intel plunging 29% and Amazon slipping 1.4% in the latest post-earnings selloffs. Those declines followed a $500 billion wipeout in Alphabet's market value amid fears that AI could undermine its search business.
The selloff exposes a dividing line in the AI boom: Financial staying power. On LinkedIn, BlackRock’s Wei Li notes many tech firms are "spending more than they are making," pushing free cash flow into negative territory.
