According to information I have received, another act of vandalism has reportedly been committed against the bust of Heydar Aliyev in Tbilisi. A similar incident was reportedly recorded several months ago as well, but for some reason, the public was not informed about it. Given that there are surveillance cameras and security personnel in the area, how and why do such incidents keep happening repeatedly? Being drunk every day of the week is hardly appropriate for someone responsible for security. It might be time to stay sober once in a while and actually do the job. I donโ€™t know what explanation they will come up with this time, who they will blame, or how they will try to wash their hands of responsibility. But there are people who reportedly witnessed the bust being damaged in the area. This is not simply a matter of repairing the bust. The real issue is responsibility and accountability.

A single smile can brighten someoneโ€™s entire day โค๏ธ Today I took my foreign friend to my side of the city ( Marneuli) and on the way we went up to Shavnabada. Itโ€™s a stunning place, with an incredible viewโ€ฆ but the most beautiful part turned out to be what we found there. At the entrance, an elderly priest was watching us with a smile. A stranger, yet so full of warmth. My friend asked me if I knew him. I said no. โ€œThen why is he looking at us as if heโ€™s been waiting for us, like weโ€™re close to him?โ€ he said. We went closer, greeted himโ€ฆ I told him who we were and where we were fromโ€ฆ He kept smiling, listening to us, as if we had known each other for years. Our conversation went on like this for about 40 minutes. In the end, he even took a photo of us with the view, prayed for us, and sent us off with such warmth that itโ€™s hard to put into words. In that moment, I saw in my friendโ€™s eyes how all of #Georgia became more beautiful to him. And meโ€ฆ I had been carrying heavy emotions inside, filled with thoughts and stories of oppressed childrenโ€ฆ and somehow, that one smile made everything feel a little lighter. Thatโ€™s how it isโ€”one simple, sincere smile can brighten an entire day, and sometimes even your soul. And trulyโ€ฆ happiness doesnโ€™t need much โค๏ธ

Archaeologists excavating the medieval Amberd Fortress in Armenia have unearthed a rare coin bearing the likeness of Queen Tamar, one of the Caucasus's most formidable historic rulers. The coin was found alongside a remarkably intact human skeleton and a range of artefacts shedding fresh light on everyday medieval life. The find offers a further tangible thread linking the shared history of the South Caucasus. ๐ŸŸฅ Queen Tamar of Georgia reigned from 1184 to 1213, ruling during what's widely regarded as the golden age of the medieval Georgian kingdom. She was the first woman to rule the country in her own right, and under her leadership, Georgia's borders stretched across much of the Caucasus, taking in parts of present-day Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Iran, while literature, architecture, and the arts flourished. Humboldt Forum: A Center of Intercultural Dialogue in the Heart of Berlin. I wish same in #Georgia Located in the historic center of Berlin, the Humboldt Forum is one of Germanyโ€™s most important cultural and museum projects. It is not just a museum building, but a dynamic space where different cultures, histories, and scientific perspectives come together in dialogue. The Humboldt Forum is housed in the reconstructed Berlin Palace (Berliner Schloss). Its exterior reflects classical European palace architecture, while its interior is designed as a modern museum and exhibition complex. This contrast between past and present is one of its most significant symbolic features. Inside the Forum, several major cultural and academic institutions operate. These include the Ethnological Museum and the Museum of Asian Art, alongside exhibitions on Berlinโ€™s history, global cultural connections, and scientific research. Rather than simply displaying artifacts, the Humboldt Forum encourages visitors to reflect, question, and engage with cultural narratives in an interactive way. The Humboldt Forum reflects a key principle of German cultural policy: respect for cultural diversity and responsible engagement with global heritage. For many years, Germany has been involved in preserving, researching, and publicly presenting cultural objects from around the world. The Humboldt Forum continues this approach. The collections exhibited here are not only of aesthetic value but also serve as a basis for critical reflection on history, colonialism, and intercultural relations. This approach demonstrates that Germany views cultural heritage not merely as โ€œobjects of display,โ€ but as living and meaningful expressions of human history that deserve equal respect. The Forum also promotes open discussions about historical processes, encouraging greater understanding and mutual respect between cultures. Today, the Humboldt Forum is one of the leading cultural centers not only in Berlin but also in Europe. By bringing together past and present, East and West, and diverse cultural traditions, it creates a space for meaningful dialogue. At the same time, it stands as a symbol of Germanyโ€™s commitment to cultural diversity and its responsible engagement with global heritage. #goetheinstitute #muslimlifeingermany #muslim #federal #germanembassy

Ashura is commemorated in the city of Manchester, England, without any external interference, in a peaceful and well-organized environment. In general, religious minorities in Europe operate within the legal frameworks of their respective countries, and their activities are defined by these legal boundaries. For many years now, I have been raising the issue of creating opportunities in Georgia for representatives of other religious communities to receive higher religious education. If our goal is truly European integration, then it is essential that the issue of religious minorities becomes one of the important directions on the political agenda. This topic requires constructive and well-argued discussion, rather than mere criticism or emotional assessments. This responsibility lies with all of us. Unfortunately, I have rarely seen this issue actively discussed from public platforms. In this regard, one exception could be named: Tariel Nakaidze. As we strive toward the West, this process does not only mean a geopolitical choice; it also implies the sharing of values. Accordingly, religious groups operating in Georgia rely in their activities on the values connected to their religious and cultural environments. It should also be noted that the current situation is not the responsibility of any single political force. This trend has been developing over the years and continues to this day. It will likely persist until we see more active and practical engagement from other political parties in this directionโ€”beyond mere criticism. Recently, I was in Germany as part of the program โ€œLiving as Muslims in Germany,โ€ and I am very impressed. I am ready to share the experiences of Georgia and Germany with anyone interested, and I will gradually post information. I am also tagging the @EUinGeorgia in the hope that you can share this with all political parties and interested stakeholders.

Georgia has been home to diverse ethnic and religious communities for centuries. Despite this long history of coexistence, minorities and the majority population still do not know each other well enough. We often lack a proper understanding of one anotherโ€™s traditions, values, and cultural codes. As a result, misunderstandings and unpleasant incidents frequently emerge in social and political life. For example, among Azerbaijani families in Georgia, it is customary to tie a red ribbon to the entrance door of a house when a wedding or engagement is being celebrated. This ribbon simply signifies that a joyful family occasion is taking place and allows the community to know where the celebration is being held. Unfortunately, this tradition is sometimes misinterpreted. There have even been media reports claiming that the ribbon indicates the presence of a marriageable-age daughter in the house and serves as a message that the family is seeking a husband for her. Such misconceptions are not merely the result of a lack of information; they also reinforce stereotypes, weaken trust, and create invisible barriers between communities. Social theories suggest that people often form opinions about groups they do not know through assumptions and stereotypes. Consequently, insufficient knowledge can lead to prejudice, social tensions, and even political manipulation. These situations are particularly common in matters related to religion and culture. What is most unfortunate is that some public and political figures speak about international experiences while still lacking adequate knowledge of the cultural diversity and traditions that exist within their own country. Understanding one another is not simply a matter of cultural curiosityโ€”it is a prerequisite for social cohesion, mutual respect, and a stable and inclusive future for Georgia.
