Last Sunday,I watched the full interview with @TheSlyStallone on @nytimes website and also read the transcript.I was left quite disturbed. #SylvesterStallone went through a lot of abuse as a child;stuck as he was in a dysfunctional,broken,loveless household.He turned his life around through sheer willpower and determination. By writing the script of #Rocky,he literally rewrote his own destiny. He turned around what was a medical blunder by the Doctors who delivered him as a baby(they severed a nerve in his face with the forceps, leading to partial paralysis and slurred speech),into his signature speaking style. He continued to fight disorders like bulimia and the (disorienting)trappings of stardom. Today, at age 80,he can look back with pride and satisfaction at his cinematic legacy as well as his family(He has raised five kids). His story gives us hope that: "When the going get tough The tough get going". Stallone's memoir "The Steps" is out in bookstores.
