Happy Oshi Day, REM Kanashibari! 💙 Look, at this point I don’t think I even need to explain why she’s my favorite. Between the countless pieces of art, merch, and posts of me supporting her, I think I’ve made that pretty clear. But what I can say is that meeting REM has, without a doubt, been one of the best things to happen to me in recent years. The endless support and appreciation she’s shown me, especially when it came to my attempts at drawing & supporting her through my art, have never gone unnoticed. I genuinely believe that without that extra push of encouragement, I wouldn’t have grown nearly as much as an artist, let alone found myself where I am today in my career. And that makes me all the more grateful that I get to be here watching her own career grow along the way. She can keep telling me at every meet & greet that she didn’t do anything, but I think she’s living proof that even the smallest act of kindness can spark something much bigger than we realize. And really, isn’t that what having an Oshi is all about? Someone who, simply by being themselves, inspires you to become a little better at what you do.
