As Commerce Secretary, Gina Raimondo blocked any meaningful AI regulation. Now, AI corporations have raised more than $700 million for her to run her own AI industry front group. How much goes to her personally is not publicly reported.
I was thrilled to bring together over 50 talented leaders in Rhode Island this week to discuss how we prepare American workers for the AI economy. We’re on the verge of historic changes. It's going to take all of us – the private sector, labor, government, educational institutions, and philanthropies – working together to make sure American workers have the skills to get ahead and are not left behind as AI changes the way we live and work. RAISE US was created to serve as a central organizing node in this effort. My team and I left yesterday’s session energized and with fresh insights for the work ahead. 🇺🇸🤝 #AIEconomy #FutureOfWork

The problem with a public option designed so that it doesn’t outcompete private insurance is that it won’t be much better. We need single payer Medicare for All. The insurance companies are the problem.
Among his proposals: A "public option' that wld function like a health insurance plan run by the state that Rhode Islanders and employers could choose to enroll in."It would require close to $400M in annual state funding, about 3% of total health care expenditures per yr in RI"

Not saying this as a political jab, just reflecting on a genuine sick feeling in my stomach: It is truly, deeply disturbing the degree to which the Republican Party has just become a party for protecting and celebrating child rapists.
Amy Acton's stepfather's surviving biological daughter spoke to The Daily Mail when they knocked on her door in Ohio, while sobbing. She said: She believed Amy's story, because her father raped her sister more than once (the victim in this 1974 indictment); she remembered Amy lived in a tent with Donna and Cledith; it's been terrible for her family to see Vivek's ad run in Ohio; and she heard rumors her father had victimized even more young girls.

This is straight up incitement and it’s fucking disgusting that @cspan is clipping and promoting it.
Sen. @tedcruz (R-TX) says that if U.S. Sen. candidate Abdul El-Sayed (D-MI) is elected into the Senate and is placed in the Senate Intelligence Committee, "there is a very real risk that Americans will die as a result."

Israel has become a wedge issue that is dragging down Republicans in races where the Democrat opposes sending money there
The data to me says that if anything the issue of Israel is helpful to El-Sayed in Michigan. He does better among voters who say it's extremely impt to their vote than overall. Most Mich voters & indies want military aid ended or reduced to Israel. AIPAC is deeply unpopular.

What it changes is it takes away the tools local communities have to protect their land, preserve wildlife, and block dangerous fossil fuel projects. In exchange for…clean energy stuff that Trump will still absolutely kill. Even mods like Podesta are saying it’s a rotten deal.
The whole “we don’t trust Trump so we can’t do permitting” thing strikes me as backward. The admin is already doing what you’re worried about without this bill. What it changes is that it gets harder to kill clean energy projects. Not trusting them is the case for passing it!

Goldman represents one of the most Jewish districts in the entire country until he leaves in January. To accuse his own Jewish constituents of antisemitism for choosing a proudly Jewish candidate (Brad Lander) to replace him is a shameful and dangerous lie.
My values, my identity and my community are far more important to me than any individual election result. Regardless, it’s widely understood that I lost in my particular district for the same reasons this ad is repugnant, blatantly false, and incites even more violence against Jews. And sadly, you consistently add fuel to this slanderous and anti-Jewish fire.

As temperatures drop and utility rates increase, many of our neighbors are struggling to afford their heat and stay warm. Thankfully, the LIHEAP program is active and accepting applications to help working families and neighbors on fixed incomes afford their utility bill. Visit PVDCAP.org to learn more!

What's really unique about this is that the McKee Administration is admitting that they screwed up the budget so badly that they're asking @HelenaBFoulkes to propose amendments to the *current year budget.* Normally, the new Governor doesn't get to amend the current year budget.
Big news! @RIEOHHS is requesting an early-session correction to the state budget to address the mass death and extreme damage to healthcare, human needs, and the RI economy from Trump's Medicaid cuts.

Much of this is very basic. It ranges from fixing illegal terminations to connecting people who lose Medicaid from work requirements to job training. The proposal is not available online, but I've uploaded the PDF to this Google Drive link: drive.google.com/file/d/1n0C…
