An excellent point here. It’s important to remember that Jane Doe’s official statement of that evening in 2024 has NOT been released. All info related to her statement in the media stems from one man: DA Matthew Van Houten. He has disparaged her in every interview. Fire him.

I truly believe Van Houten’s careless media comments have helped fuel the vile discourse surrounding this case, giving misogynists ammunition to question a woman’s right to say no and decide what happens to her own body.

Jane Doe told campus police, "I can say with 100% confidence I was raped” a detail that was not included in the district attorney's summary of the initial interview. The DA lied to everyone.
