Was literally talking about this yesterday as hubby and I went out for breakfast—- no warm towel
One of my favorite little things about Japan is the hot towel you get at restaurants.
It's called an oshibori.
Before you even order, someone places a soft, rolled cotton towel in front of you.
Steaming hot in winter.
Refreshingly cold in summer.
And it's completely free.
You unfold it and wrap it around your tired hands.
Man...
That feeling.
Your shoulders drop.
Your eyes close.
And you let out that long, quiet sigh you didn't even know you needed.
Especially after a long day at work.
For a few seconds, everything feels right with the world.
It's just a little towel.
But sometimes, the smallest acts of hospitality make you feel the most welcome.
I love this about Japan. 🇯🇵

Just got back ourselves and agree with every word. And the hospitality is truly wonderful
Goodbye, Japan! 🇯🇵
What a nice trip it has been. I most enjoyed how friendly/discipllined people are, how clean and quiet everything is.
I also appreciate the micro ceremonies like bowing and giving/receiving with two hands.
The restaurant experience is amazing. You always get bottomless water, nobody comes to take your order if you’re jot ready, and you can usually order on a tablet. You always pay exiting the restaurant.
