Nine months to grow you, Three hours to give birth to you, One hour to bury you. Charlotte died on the 24th February 2016. She was 19. Glioblastoma was the brain cancer that stripped my daughter of her mobility, her ability to speak and her ability to hear. Within twenty-four hours, following a rapid decline post-diagnosis, she was paralysed down her right side; she was no longer able to text, nor was she able to feed herself. A few days later Charlotte could no longer communicate. She was taken into hospital and put into an induced coma from which she never recovered. Charlotte and I had always dreamed of choosing a wedding dress together, as well as her first car. Instead, I chose her last outfit, the one she would wear on the day of her funeral and cremation. I never got to choose a wedding car, only the hearse.  If you want to donate to a brain tumour charity where 100% of your donation goes to research please think of us and pop a pound in Charlotte's Bag. A self funding charity. All donations to Charlotte's Lab, King's College Hospital. London charlottesbag.org/ Please RT Would be great to get 500

Andy was right; use Google Maps to find cheaper fuel. The only problem is it’s in Venezuela.

X is totally useless. I barely use it, but posted a photo of my bird cardigan earlier and now the photo from it has been deleted. Come follow me on Instagram if you like knitting and birds: TheWoollyPug

The transitions between each section are incredibly smooth. It’s so good that I got completely absorbed in this arrangement and almost forgot about the original soundtrack.

Vivaldi's “Winter,” visualized in a fascinating way, so that the auditory experience is even more intense; one can literally “see” the music, so to speak

Monifieth Links, 1845 Allan Robertson & Alexander Pirie Dundee, Scotland Located about a 45 minute drive north of St Andrews, Monifieth Golf Links sits on an incredible piece of rolling sandy links and heathland landscape. The routing takes you out with a mix of four short and longer par 4’s, a longer par 3, a drivable par 4, and finishes with a par 5 with a par of 36. Coming in the par 4’s are a little shorter, a couple of par 3’s, and finishing with a par 5. Par is 35. The fairways are pretty narrow, lined with sandy dunes or gorse/heather. The contours are exquisite. Just the right amount of cant and slope. You must be precise and many holes call for something less than driver to avoid the penal pot bunkering. They are incredibly firm and you need some luck with the bounces. The green complexes at Monifieth are magnificent. A great combination of elevated and perched along with some flatter and less sloped. All are well guarded by bunkers and long fescue grass. The speeds were brilliant. Probably the best rolling greens I’ve putted on in Scotland to date. I knew of Monifieth Links just by looking at maps and knowing of the more popular Carnoustie and Panmure in the area. But I was always told it was a really good golf course. Those expectations lived up to the billing. I was smitten by it. Hole after hole was something different. Plenty of strategy and the conditions were simply A+. Monifieth will definitely be in my St Andrews area rota going forward and can’t recommend it enough for those looking for something maybe a little more affordable yet, wanting a true Scottish links experience.

After ~16 years, had to replace our LG direct drive washing machine. In my wisdom bought a Miele which is great but…….its just so SERIOUS and doesn’t even play a wee tune when it finishes. Miss the LG so much 🫧🎶

It would be my pleasure to suggest some cardigans. This thread will include a range of options, including some that stretch our imagination of what a cardigan can look like. It will also include tips on how to repair moth-ridden clothes. And find cheaper alternatives. 🧵
Dear @dieworkwear - my faithful cardigan has been destroyed by the murderous moth, and I need a replacement. Buttons or zipper, I’m not fussed. Needs to fulfil around-the-house and down-the-pub roles. I don’t want to look like a fart and neither a clothes horse. Must be comforting. Any suggestions?

Today I launch my new reforms to get people to work, revitalise Britain’s cities and give the country a fresh way forwards. I’m calling it the Get off your arse, get a job and pay your way act. Anyone living in taxpayer funded housing and claiming benefits, will have six months to get a job and come off benefits. Failure to do so will result in them being moved to Middlesbrough. If after a further six months they can’t pay their way, they will be moved to the Falkland Islands, where they will be housed in a tent with sleeping bag. They will then be given enough wood and building materials to build themselves a raft which they are free to use to sail to a country of their choice. The houses and flats that they were originally living in will be let to working people who aren’t claiming benefits but who can’t afford to live in London or anywhere else. They will get them for life at 80 percent discount on market rents as long as they work and don’t claim benefits. This act will save £322 billion in one year. The money saved will be used to reduce income tax to zero. This will result in massive extra spending, enormous creation of new jobs and immense happiness and positivity throughout Britain, which shall become known as Great Britain. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Have a lovely Sunday. Cheers 🥂

Such a waste of a life. RIP, Brother 💙 The wife of PC Matthew Blades, one of our officers who was sadly killed in the collision on the A66 in the early hours of Saturday 22 August 2026, has paid the following tribute to him: "No words will ever feel like the right words to honour our Matt — my beloved husband, my best friend, and the most devoted father to our two young boys. "He was an adored son and brother, a perfect son-in-law, and the most fun uncle. He was loved beyond words by all his family and friends, and his loss has left a space that can never be filled. "He gave his life in the line of duty, protecting and serving others with courage, dedication and selflessness. "The pain of losing him is beyond words, and our lives will never be the same. Neither will the love he gave us ever fade. "Our children will grow up knowing what an incredible father he was and will always be, and I will carry his love, his memory and everything we shared with me always. "He may have left this world committed to the duty he believed in, but his greatest legacy will always be the love he gave to his family. "We would also like to express our deepest gratitude and heartfelt thanks to all of the emergency services and to our police family who have stood beside us through the most difficult time of our lives. "The kindness, compassion, love and unwavering support we have received as a family has meant more to us than words could ever express. Every message, visit, gesture of support and every person who has stood alongside us will never be forgotten. Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever our superhero. Our Matt and Dad❤️" Cleveland Police.
