Replying to @PalmerLuckey
@PalmerLuckey has just been tapped to help the Pentagon figure out what warfare looks like decades from now. The Pentagon announced Project Meridian today, a 120-day effort to identify the technologies, weapons and capabilities the U.S. will need to maintain an advantage in future wars. The three people leading it: Elon Musk Palmer Luckey Newt Gingrich Pentagon CTO Emil Michael will help facilitate the project, and the group is expected to deliver its findings in 120 days. The scope is enormous. Hegseth described it as looking across future battlefields “from under the earth to beyond the moon.” And Meridian isn’t being launched in isolation. The Pentagon also announced a new Autonomous Warfare Command, intended to overhaul how the military buys, tests and deploys drones, robotics and other autonomous systems. That’s what makes Palmer’s involvement particularly interesting to me. For years we’ve heard him argue that the U.S. defense industry needs to think differently about autonomy, software, manufacturing, cost and how quickly new technology gets into the hands of warfighters. Now he’s one of three people being asked to look beyond today’s programs and help identify what the U.S. should be preparing to fight with years or even decades from now. I’ll be very interested to see what comes out of this in 120 days. axios.com/2026/09/30/pentago…

Lots of discussion out there about our next model(!), so I wanted to give an early look as soon as possible. Introducing Gemini 4 Argon! It shows frontier performance in complex workflows, cyber defense and software engineering. Teams are using it extensively at Google, from coding to quantum computing, great feedback. Here’s a look at the benchmarks:

Great to meet today with @POTUS, @JDVance, @SpeakerJohnson and Administration + tech leaders. Important conversation and we signed today the White House Accord on Super Intelligence. As I shared today, Google has invested hundreds of billions in the last two years alone, with more to come, across the entire stack, to deliver benefits for America and the world. We’re working to build products that deliver real value for people and businesses, invest in local communities, and build trust in the technology. Industry also has to innovate responsibly. Google’s focused on building the right way, with appropriate testing, evaluations, red-teaming, and other safeguards against misuse and misalignment – and releasing models or products only after they’ve been thoroughly reviewed. We are committed to working with other industry leaders to establish norms and build public confidence. The White House Accord and the Joint Commitment on Frontier Responsibilities signed today is a solid basis for moving forward - it contains real tangible steps to promote safe development, while delivering the economic and scientific benefits of this technology.

I think it's a significant positive step that the leaders of every major American lab have committed to implementing robust internal controls and multiple layers of audits and reviews. This should give people more confidence that the technology each lab is building will work as intended.
Only President Trump could convene all the leaders of the top companies developing chips, data centers and frontier models for Super Intelligence. This new Industrial Revolution has already created a million new jobs and is spurring a bigger infrastructure build-out than the railroads, canals and grid combined. I was honored to witness history as the leaders of the frontier lab companies signed the White House Accord on Super Intelligence, accepting responsibility for the safe development of their products and imposing new internal controls and external audits. This is far better than waiting years for some international agreement that would probably never happen. President Trump continues to ensure that U.S. remains the technology leader while putting Americans first.

GPT-6.1 Sol on Higgsfield built a prototype that gives ranchers a bird’s-eye view of their herd. It turns drone footage into live herd counts and tracking, with alerts when an animal wanders off.

At 22 he said no to $1 billion from Yahoo, and opened the board meeting with one sentence: "We're obviously not going to sell here." His name is Mark Zuckerberg. In 2006 Facebook was two years old and still mostly for students. Yahoo offered $1 billion. His investors wanted to at least talk about it. Peter Thiel later said Zuckerberg called the meeting a formality that should take ten minutes. Almost every early employee thought he was insane. Some of the management team left over it. Facebook, now Meta, went on to be worth more than a trillion dollars. Honestly, most of us would have taken it and called it the smartest move of our lives. A billion dollars at 22 is not a mistake by any normal standard. What made the difference was that he didn't think in normal standards. He wasn't asking if $1 billion was a lot. He was asking if Facebook was worth more. Would you have signed at 22?

It is a hilarious oxymoron where he’s building the world’s greatest AI system (debatably) on certain fronts, while simultaneously acting like it’s a horrible thing for the industry to be doing. Seems a little oxymoronic
