new - Cody Campbell group Saving College Sports warning that UNC, FSU, Miami and Clemson could tank college sports bill in the House by pushing "to raise the conference cap from 20 to 22 while also sunsetting the entire provision so that they have the right to immediately bolt from the ACC" "They have told members of our board in just the last several hours that they are willing to do everything in their power to defeat the bill if their demands are not met"

What would the bipartisan Protect College Sports Act do? @CodyC64 joined @WillCainShow to explain how it would bring stability back to college sports, prioritize athletes earning their degrees, protect women’s and Olympic sports, and preserve legitimate NIL opportunities. Watch:

College sports are a uniquely American tradition and they’re worth protecting. The Protect College Sports Act puts student-athletes first, protects NIL rights, preserves scholarships, women’s and Olympic sports, and brings common-sense stability back to college athletics. I commend the Senate for getting this bipartisan legislation across the finish line. Now it’s time for the House to get to work. I look forward to working with my colleagues to protect student-athletes and preserve college sports for generations to come.

I applaud @SenTedCruz for leading the Protect College Sports Act, which passed the Senate with bipartisan support. After years of uncertainty and constant litigation, college sports need stability. This bill protects student athletes, preserves women's and Olympic sports, and secures the future of college athletics across the country. I look forward to taking it up in the House.

Important vote last night in the Senate and while I’ve not formally stumped for it, there’s no question in my mind this legislation will serve to help College Athletics overall. Not all of it problems are solved, as the leaders of the Conferences can now assert themselves more and they MUST! However, some guard rails were needed and it’s my opinion this clears the way to end much of the recent madness we’ve experienced. As a broadcaster of College Athletics for now over 5 decades we were on the brink of losing much of its appeal if we continued down this road we were on. @SpeakerJohnson it’s your turn to get this bipartisan bill thru the House.
“The Protect College Sport Act just passed in the U.S. Senate by a vote of 77-22. This is a really big deal. It will not only save college sports, it will save the colleges themselves.” - President Donald J. Trump 🇺🇸

Seth Levinson’s new piece lays out why some special interests are attacking the bi-partisan Protect College Sports Act. The answer is simple: the bill protects student-athletes, cracks down on abusive practices, and keeps an estimated $35 million a year in student-athletes’ pockets rather than unregulated agents’ fees. thefederalist.com/2026/09/25…

Fair and honest, and not picking a side also the right he and all of us have. I applaud him for answering. I don’t mind professing my being a Republican nor do I care if those on the left vilify me for admitting to it. This bill isn’t perfect. However it’s gonna solve about 80 %of the issues Intercollegiate Athletics faces. A little like expanding to 24 teams, many don’t like it, but it’s happening. @SenTedCruz has the votes and in @SenatorCantwell he has help across the aisle. 👊🎧🎙️🏈

There’s nothing else quite like college sports, and Matthew @McConaughey knows what makes it so special. The rivalries. The traditions. The moments that bring us together. “America, we created magic. Now it’s up to us to preserve it.” Pass the bipartisan Protect College Sports Act.

Yesterday’s overwhelming 74-24 bipartisan vote sent a clear message. Protecting the future of college sports isn’t a partisan issue. The momentum is real. Now let’s finish the job and save college sports.
Today’s Senate's sweeping, overwhelming, and bipartisan 74-24 vote a to open debate on the Protect College Sports Act shows that stabilizing college sports is a priority that unites Americans, and one that transcends our political and geographical divides. I'm truly grateful to all the stakeholders who have come together to help make the case for this great American institution — and to all those who have improved the bill throughout the process. I look forward to a robust debate in the Senate, then on to the House with the Senate's strong backing, and ultimately to the President’s desk!

The support of the @bigten and @SEC conferences for the Protect College Sports Act is a major breakthrough that moves us closer to a Senate vote — and a better future for college athletes in all sports, universities and fans nationwide. This wouldn’t have happened without the tireless work of @tedcruz , @SenatorCantwell and @Eric_Schmitt and conference leaders negotiating in good faith and the strong backing of so many stakeholders, including @realDonaldTrump . With everyone continuing to work together, we’re going to get this done, and the lives of hundreds of thousands of young people will be positively impacted.
