A smart contract can execute exactly as programmed and still make the wrong decision if the data it receives is unreliable. That's an underrated problem in onchain finance, in my opinion. Imagine a prediction market settling a bet based on information from a website. The contract might work perfectly, but how do we know the external evidence is authentic without forcing users to expose all their private information? That's why I think the missing piece isn't just better smart contracts, but a better way to prove that the information they rely on is real. With zkTLS, @primus_labs aims to help applications verify the authenticity of data from web sources while preserving user privacy. What I find interesting is the combination of two things that are often treated separately: proving that information is trustworthy and protecting the person providing it. Together with CournotProtocol, Primus is bringing verifiable web evidence into prediction markets, while exploring potential applications in private credit and onchain finance. I think this could be more important than it sounds. Prediction markets need reliable evidence to resolve disputes. Credit applications need trustworthy information to assess risk. And financial applications increasingly need data that can be verified without exposing more personal information than necessary. Of course, the real test is how reliably these systems work in practice, especially when the source data is disputed or the stakes are high. But the direction makes sense to me. Onchain execution is only as trustworthy as the evidence behind the decision. If we can verify offchain information without sacrificing privacy, we're opening the door to applications that are difficult to build with today's usual approach. That's the part of Primus I'm interested in watching.
