Today, we’re celebrating #PeerReviewWeek2023 by highlighting the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion to scientific research. Collaboration between researchers around the world can provide a peer review system that works for the many, rather than the privileged few.

The curators @BiophysicsColab have been running a #preprintreview trial, which has been well received by authors and reviewers alike. Their collaborative workflow provides clear feedback to improve the rigour of studies whilst allowing authors to retain control of their work.

The Future of Publishing is the theme of #PeerReviewWeek2023 In our view, preprint peer review has the greatest potential to reform scientific publishing; facilitating immediate access to research findings, collegial discussion of results, and transparent evaluation of studies.
