I use my students’ own exploration photo with visual cueing, visual scaffolding, and augmentation (using AI) to help them answer our weekly essential question: How does electrical energy transform into thermal and light energy? 💡⚡

My students are learning this week how electrical energy can produce light and heat. 💡 They’re exploring how to connect batteries and wires to make a closed circuit and light up a bulb! 🔋✨

Shake it up! 🔬💧 This week, my students are learning about conservation of matter. They mixed soil and water, gave it a shake, and discovered that the total mass stayed the same! 🌱

Our students had a blast at Arthur Storey Park learning firsthand about mixtures and solutions! 🌿🔬 They will now complete a project-based learning (PBL) activity to propose solutions to littering in our parks. Hands-on science with a real-world purpose! 💚
I’ve started creating cartoons to teach science vocabulary during Preview–View–Review (PVR), a strategy in our dual language framework. Today’s word: dissolve! My students love the visuals—and now they’re asking to read the cartoons themselves!

Our science teachers visited their own and other classrooms to explore interactive word walls. From real objects and student drawings to vocabulary and sentence stems, they gathered ideas and reflected on how to use the walls to support learning throughout the week.

Today, my 38 fourth graders completed their science data trackers and reflected on their results from CBA Strand 1. They identified where they are now and set goals for their next assessment. 📊🔬

🔬 Our fourth-grade scientists are investigating: What happens when matter is mixed? / ¿Qué sucede cuando se mezcla la materia? Through hands-on learning, students explore how mixtures are formed and separated. TEKS 4.6B 🧪 @Horn_Dreams_Big @AliefScience
