Congratulations to Jodie Fearon & Muirinn Carty on the successful completion of the short film 'Caoineadh', one of the winners of the New Voices 2026 bursary!
Wishing the team the very best of luck as Caoineadh begins its festival journey - we can't wait to see where it goes!
An Irish-language short film follows three sisters as they navigate an unspoken grief, each in their own way, and together as a fragile harmony. While they struggle to cope with the emotional weight of their loss, they find solace in music and in each other’s company.
This short film is one of the recipients of the New Voices Short Film Fund 2026, a Screen Wexford initiative delivered in partnership with County Wexford Arts Office and supported by @wexfordcoco, @BodeciiFilmIrl and @FilmEquipHire.
Calling all South East filmmakers! Have you made a short film in Wexford or the South East? We would love to showcase your work as part of the Screen Wexford Culture Night 2026 Short Film Showcase!

Big news for Wexford talent at the 2026 @GalwayFilm Fleadh! Two films produced by Wexford-based producer @FionaKinsella, who also sits on the Steering Committee of Screen Wexford, will have their world premieres at this year’s festival next week.
Both films were shot entirely on location in Wexford - FEED in and around Monalee, and THE QUIET OCEAN at Ballytrent House - showcasing the county’s incredible filmmaking potential on the big screen.
