Shooting can be the best form of defence in Hurling. Club teams over the next few months will experience periods in a game like Cork did in the 2nd Half of the All Ireland Semi Final this year. The opposition gets a run of shots on you from turnovers and exposing you on your own puck out. Outshooting your opponent and putting pressure on the opposition's puck out is vital. Shots: Limerick 46 V Galway 36 Galway 48 v Cork 29 Galway 48 v Dublin 29 Limerick 41 v Cork 26

Maeve and I created Santa's Magical Journey Around Ireland. What started as a bit of fun together has turned into something much bigger — a Christmas reading and colouring book. For every book sold, €1 goes to LauraLynn, helping support children and families across Ireland.

Diff mgmt but same issue as LY's All ireland final, persisting with trying to work inside line when Tipp/Galway sitting back - not taking the shots/scores from the outside to draw that deep defence out killed us. Would add that not winning puck outs adds to it! Great piece.

Excellent analysis here from @SeanFlynn85 .....think Cork only had 11 Pts in championship this year from their midfield and half back line, significant drop YoY , proof for me that it was deliberate strategy ...baffling with quality of some of the strikers in middle 3rd

Great tweet. Last 2 or 3 seasons Cork have really focused on goals but before that it was long range shooting from all angles. They need to really find a mix of both

Breaking Ball Different codes, same principles by @MayoGAA & @LimerickCLG 1. Player does not try to catch the ball clean under pressure & breaks it to ground 2. Players moving in to breaking area and not static waiting underneath the ball. Useful restart when under pressure

Was in Upper Davin. The precision of the spacing between the Limerick players in Galway's half on Galway puckouts was so impressive. Galway were desperately looking for pockets of space but couldnt escape contact.

Galway's physicality and attacks this year was based on outshooting the opposition & attacking off turning over the opp's short and long puck outs Limerick flipped things today by outshooting Galway which allowed Limerick to pack their half and this opened up Galway's half.

Simple analysis - Tipp have a chronic problem with goal difference in Munster. In the past 3.5 seasons they've out-goaled their opponent once (their only win in that period) and been out-goaled 10 times. A Goal Diff of -19 in 14 games..19 worse than the next best team! #gaa

Article in the link on a 2nd Half Breaking Ball Masterclass by the Dubs which exposed Wexford’s defence. – Flynners.com Wexford can make make small defensive fixes under the high ball and breaking ball which could see them concede a lot less in games. (See Below)
