🧵 1. The quiet quarter. November through February decides more of next spring than any showcase. Six posts on how to use it, from the coaches who build college rosters.

Me and the twins at our weekly lesson last night with @dalpal12 refining mechanics and getting more out of my curve. New pitch and much needed drop ball being added to the bag of goodies. #challengeyourself #trainwithpurpose #pitchers instagr.am/p/DeMrXMOIBRZ/

#SeniorSundaySpotlight ⭐️ @JuliannaA2027 | @Altamirano3578 💪 @FCLelesVeasey 🏫 Live Oak High School 🥎 Pitcher 👩🏻‍🎓 Class of 2027 🔓 Uncommitted 📚 Intended Major: Construction Management Julianna “Jules” Altamirano has competed on some of softball’s biggest stages, including a third-place finish at PGF Nationals with San Jose Sting 18U and a 17th-place finish at IDT in Boulder. Those experiences have helped shape her into a pitcher who knows how to compete against strong talent and contribute when the pressure is high. But Jules believes being a great teammate is about more than performance. It means supporting and believing in one another, being there to pick someone up and continuing to encourage her teammates—even when she may not be having her best game herself. Rankings may show part of who she is as an athlete, but they cannot measure the personality and compassion she brings to her team. As she searches for her future college home, Jules is looking for the complete fit: an opportunity to contribute on the field, a genuine player-coach connection and a school offering Construction Management. She wants a program where she can continue developing as both a pitcher and a person. Away from softball, Jules enjoys country concerts, watching sunsets with friends, welding, shopping and going to church. She is an uncommitted 2027 pitcher with competitive experience, a big heart for her teammates and plenty more to show. ❤️🥎

Handful of K’s from yesterday. It was hot 🥵 but we persevered and battled through it all to get the W on all 3 games. @firecrackersvines keep grinding this week! Stay hydrated, stay safe while training in the heat. We’ve got a lot ahead of us. #beattheheat☀️ instagr.am/p/DeJFIrdovzo/

Everybody wants to show off their ESPN-worthy web gems. The diving catches. The incredible stops. And yes, those plays are FUN. 🔥 But how consistently do you make the routine play? Can you field the ground ball, make an accurate throw, and secure the out? Over and over—even when nobody’s clipping it for a highlight reel? The spectacular play doesn’t erase the routine outs you give away. Coaches need to know they can count on your fundamentals. Give them highlights to get excited about AND consistency they can trust.

2029s — don’t make the mistake of thinking recruiting hasn’t started for you yet. Coaches may have just hit the trigger date for the 2028s, but trust me… they’re watching YOU too. They’re building watch lists. They’re taking notes. They’re figuring out who they want to follow over the next year. But they can’t watch someone they don’t know exists. Introduce yourself. Send the email. Include your schedule, highlights, GPA, position, grad year, and test scores if you’ve taken them. And if you haven’t taken the SAT/ACT yet, consider taking them early so you know exactly where you may need to improve. Most importantly — tell them WHY you’re interested in THAT school. Not a generic copy-and-paste email sent to 75 coaches. Then keep updating them. New schedule? Send it. New video? Send it. New measurable? Send it. Big academic update? Send it. One email is not recruiting. You’re building familiarity over time so when your contact window DOES open, your name isn’t brand new to them. Start planting seeds now. 🌱

Sunday off day…..nope! Getting a 2-3 mile run in and light bullpen work. New reps with tidal tank backpack for balance and throwing at 80 percent staying fluid and consistent. #nodaysoff #softballtraining #sundayfunday☀️ instagr.am/p/DdzxtZBomG9/
