One thing is very clear … there are many folks out there that don’t understand how to use covered calls in this market.
We get it … the safer thing to say is not to write CCs in this current market environment … especially with a bunch of amateur options-writers on X following advice from “furus”. But, there is opportunity to make money using CCs in this market … if you know what you’re doing.
Maybe we should start a Discord and coaching service. Portfolio management using strategic options overlays (for example, covered calls) should not be avoided in this market if you know how to use it.

$IREN announces earnings after the closing bell today. This market sell-off is such a big overblown reaction to data-centers.
IREN will probably drop for earnings, but even we'd be surprised if it went all the way down to 5 (or 3) by mid-December.
Taking a put credit spread trade in contract volume - Dec 18 expiration, $5/$3 spread. Seller beware.

This market provides opportunities on both sides of the #Optionselling trade. Just because the market is down and folks are hesitant about a bounce up doesn't mean that bounce will happen, and also it doesn't mean you should avoid writing naked and covered calls if the trade set-up makes sense and is favorable to you.

Wrote this Iron Condor on $PLTR to play earnings. If price action holds steady where it is now into the open tomorrow, then will close this position out for profit (assuming IV crush does its thing on both sides).
Definitely gonna close the call spread. Will see what the naked 130P and 125/115 PCS show on the premium tomorrow.

Back to writing covered calls ... and probably taking more aggressive strikes.
Gonna take as much money from these disgusting institutional trading firms that manipulate stock prices by overselling and unjustifiably dumping prices on stalwarts like $AMZN $GOOGL $NOW etc. just so that they can make some short-term profit to pad their quarterly performance numbers.
Closed out these $AMZN naked and covered calls for over $1K profit. 🤑
Gonna re-write naked and covered calls on AMZN next week. Got puts in play, and leaving those as-is for now.

This is us laughing at all the people giving us shit for writing far OTM strikes at low premiums while we close out those trades for profit ... meanwhile, these same folks are taking big losses because they chased higher premium at more aggressive strikes, which they are now severely underwater on the position ($AMZN $GOOGL $NOW $INTC and the list goes on).
Be careful and pay attention who you follow and listen to on X when it comes to this #Optionselling game!
