Appia is named after “Via Appia, Regina Viarum”. Pontes means bridges. Roads and bridges only work if everyone crosses in the same terms. For tokenized markets, that makes confidentiality one of the common standards Appia has to set. #Tokenization #appia

The principle that matters most here:
"Regulation will focus on outcomes (e.g., resilience, privacy) rather than prescribing specific technology."
That's the unlock. Outcome-based, tech-neutral regulation lets builders invest seriously in institutional-grade products.
I saw this appetite first-hand at the BoE's DLT Innovation Challenge, where I presented @RaylsLabs' approach to interoperability, connecting permissioned and offchain environments while preserving privacy.
A long way to go to cement the UK at the forefront, but a meaningful step.
@Kenji_YP, great point. Outcome-based regulation is only as good as the outcome definitions. If 'resilience' ends up meaning 'looks like the existing system', we've gained nothing. The fact that BoE is running challenges with builders, rather than just consulting banks, is a good sign.

Silent Data Hack Day Wrap-Up
Last week marked the very first @SilentDataApp Hack Day, and it was a success. Our goal was to evaluate the product’s potential, usability, and gather ideas from our in-house developers. Five teams participated, and the results, along with the presented use cases, were truly impressive.
@SilentDataApp empowers developers to call any authenticated web2 API from their smart contracts. Silent Data unlocked secure and privacy-preserving actual use cases, that the developers were keen to explore, around private banking, contract and payroll management databases, YouTube, and GitHub.
The first Hack Day was internal but our next edition will be open to the public. Stay tuned for details.
