Thanks to Senator Susan Collins, @SenateCommerce will mark up the Northeast Lobstermen Protection Act when the Senate returns in November.
@SenatorCollins’s leadership has been instrumental in advancing this bill to protect Maine’s lobstermen from burdensome regulations. I hope we can move this bill without changes or further delay to put on President Trump’s desk ASAP.

It was a great day at the White House with President Trump and the talented crew of Artemis III 🇺🇸
The Artemis III crew is led by Commander Randy Bresnik, Pilot Luca Parmitano, and Mission Specialists Andre Douglas and Frank Rubio with Bob Hines backing them up.
It is clear @POTUS is the force behind a new era of American leadership in space. His policies include the Artemis program, the Artemis Accords, now signed by 78 nations, and the United States Space Force. Of course, the United States Space Academy is coming soon.
With the resources provided to @NASA in the WFTCA, we were able to approach our return to the Moon the right way. We added the Artemis III mission and will now be able to establish humankind’s first outpost on another world, the Moon Base, with its first robotic mission just weeks away.
We are rebuilding the workforce and core capabilities at NASA Centers, taking control of our destiny--we are building again. With SR-1 Freedom, we will finally get America underway on nuclear power in space, what should be the dawn of a Nuclear NASA.
I am grateful every day to serve as NASA Administrator and to see the talent across our workforce, industry, and international partners changing the world. Together, we are leading the way on the greatest adventure in human history.
LIVE: NASA's Anil Menon and @csa_asc's Joshua Kutryk are setting up a new solar array outside the @Space_Station. Today's spacewalk is scheduled to start around 8am ET (1200 UTC) and run for about six and a half hours. nitter.cf/i/broadcasts/1rxmqpBDD…

College sports are a uniquely American tradition that bond us together.
West Virginians will always remember when Pat White and Steve Slaton shocked the world against Georgia in the ‘06 Sugar Bowl, Joe Mazzulla’s heroics to upset Kentucky, Kevin Pittsnogle raining threes to take down Wake Forest, or the Mountaineers recent run through the NCAA baseball tournament that had the whole country singing Country Roads.
But for years, uncertainly and inconsistency have ruled the college sports world to the detriment of West Virginia’s student athletes and our ability to compete. It’s time to fix college sports and ensure this great tradition remains strong.
The Protect College Sports Act, which just passed the Senate, will bring much-needed stability, puts student athletes first, preserves scholarships, reins in conference realignment craziness, and preserves the traditions that make college sports so special.
Let’s get this passed in the House!

The Protect College Sports Act passed the Senate 77 to 22 with strong bipartisan support.
Raphael Warnock voted no.
This is common sense. Pay student athletes fairly. Set reasonable transfer rules. End the NIL chaos. Georgia athletes deserve better than Warnock's vote.
I plan to vote YES when it comes to the House.

Saving college sports isn't a red jersey vs. blue jersey thing. It's about saving an American institution.
The Senate overwhelmingly passed the bipartisan Protect College Sports Act—now, it's up to the House to pass it and send it to President Trump's desk.
Let's get this done.

The Senate’s bipartisan passage of the Protect College Sports Act is a welcome step toward restoring order in college athletics.
Years of lawsuits, uneven state rules, and nonstop roster movement have left programs and athletes without a reliable framework. This legislation establishes clear national standards that protect student-athletes, sustain women’s and Olympic sports, and give college athletics a more stable future. I look forward to this legislation moving forward in the House.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said the Protect College Sports Act would bring “order to chaos” in college athletics by creating national rules for transfers, NIL compensation and other issues.
Asked about criticism that the legislation would cap athlete pay and limit their ability to move between schools, Cruz told @tonydokoupil the bill protects athletes’ right to earn unlimited NIL compensation.
The Senate passed the legislation 77-22. It now moves to the House.

I’m not worried about the superstars. I’m worried about the 99% of college athletes who will never play in the NFL or NBA, but for whom sports is their ticket to college.
If Congress does nothing, we risk ending up with a mini-NFL of 30 to 50 rich programs while everyone else gets priced out.
The Protect College Sports Act is about preserving those opportunities.

Coach Saban and President Gee are exactly right.
College sports is one of America’s great institutions. It has given generations of young men and women the chance to compete, earn an education, represent their communities, and be part of something bigger than themselves.
That tradition is worth protecting. I’m grateful to Coach Saban and President Gee for making the case so powerfully.
The Senate did its job. Now the House should act and send the Protect College Sports Act to President Trump’s desk.

As a conservative, I believe you should be able to reap the fruits of your labor.
If a college athlete is producing millions of dollars of value, that athlete should be able to make money.
The Protect College Sports Act protects genuine NIL by statute.

The claim that our college sports bill takes away athletes’ ability to get paid what they are worth is simply wrong.
The old system, where everyone got paid but the athletes, wasn’t fair. As a conservative, I believe you ought to be able to reap the rewards of your labor.
If you can sell millions of tennis shoes, you ought to be able to make millions of dollars. Our bill protects that right.

As a lifelong @UNIAthletics fan and college sports enthusiast, Sen. @ChuckGrassley voted for the Protect College Sports Act so athletes, coaches, professional sports leagues and Olympic organizations play by the same set of rules. The legislation passed the Senate by a bipartisan vote of 77-22.
