Ottawa Senators

Ian Mendes will become the fourth member of the Sens organization in the Order of Ottawa, following the late Bryan Murray, Chris Phillips, and Cyril Leeder. “When you say those names back-to-back-to-back, and then you put my name in there, you feel like you don't belong there.” ottsens.com/48nAWvo

Even after a loss in which Jordan Spence and Travis Green said that he was not to blame, Samuel Ersson still faced the media and took responsibility for the result. “I think we kind of let ‘Erss’ down a little bit tonight," said Spence. ottsens.com/4yw9FBz

Jake Sanderson hopes to play tomorrow. If he does, he'll provide a huge boost for a blueline that has already used 10 defenders. "I tried to stay mentally sharp, even though I'm not playing, so when I come back, the transition can be somewhat smooth." ottsens.com/3UDJwD5

As he began his fourth season as majority owner of the @senators & @BellevilleSens, I chatted with Michael Andlauer about his excitement for the year and the progress the organization has made. "I think we’re starting to see the fruits of our labour.” ottsens.com/47uxPSc

The Sens are quite pleased with Travis Green's contract extension: "Obviously, you want to play hard for the guys, but when your coach is just an awesome dude... you want to play hard for them, too. It’s a well-deserved extension," said Jake Sanderson. ottsens.com/47q28JJ

The Sens will wear black on the road tonight in Philly:

With another stellar performance on Thursday night, Linus Ullmark now has a career shootout save percentage of .796. That mark ranks seventh amongst goalies that have faced 40 or more shots all-time. "He makes it look pretty easy." ottsens.com/4dEoQBh

The @BellevilleSens home opener on Oct. 2 was the first time that Andrew Campbell had served as head coach to begin a season — at any level. I visited Belleville and had the chance to talk with the man they call 'Soupy' ahead of the season: ottsens.com/4hXYg7v
