An argument I see around against the depiction of uncomfortable topics on fictions goes like:
"Yes I understand the author wanted to show this, but they could have done in a more subtle, less impactful way"
It baffles me how I keep seeing that exact idea over and over again

// I do not "Draw a rough sketch", I do not "Study anatomy", I RAWDOG it. And if it looks like shit, I KILL myself

Ok i get what dana meant by this ep being a litmus test now. It wasnt the grittiness, the themes of sa in general, it was making the obvious rapist character attractive. The test was to see if the fandom could handle the topic of rape appropriately and wouldnt jump to defend him
I think saying a character…a rapist mind you. Was “too hot to die” is the same as those people saying that these rapists irl should be released from prison because “MnGh HES TOO HOT!! 😣FREE HIM!”
You are the problem. And why this topic is necessary
DEAD MEN DONT RAPE ‼️

Goodbye, I'm seeing two sides of Knights of Guinevere enjoyers/fans CLASHING over one dude
What's up with glitch fans being divided over one seemingly problematic character?

(I hate his guts too.)
