My Thoughts on $MSFT Microsoft Q3'26: Azure Growth Accelerates to 48%, Copilot Adoption Surges. Microsoft delivered a strong quarter, with revenue growth accelerating to 18.8% YoY. Microsoft Cloud GAAP revenue growth accelerated to 30% YoY, while Azure growth reached 48% YoY, an even more impressive result. Cloud RPO increased 73% YoY, supporting continued revenue growth. Foundry revenue more than tripled YoY, driven by stronger AI consumption and improved GPU utilization. Copilot Adoption Accelerates Microsoft introduced its largest Copilot upgrade, combining chat, co-work, autopilot, and coding into a unified experience. Copilot daily users increased nearly 50% QoQ and more than 5x YoY. Automated tasks nearly doubled since July, while user satisfaction improved almost 20% QoQ. GitHub agent-generated pull requests increased 6x over six months, with AI agents now creating more than one-third of all pull requests. Copilot customers actively using consumption credits increased over 75% QoQ, demonstrating growing adoption of autonomous workflows. AI Infrastructure Efficiency Microsoft continues investing heavily in AI infrastructure, with calendar 2026 CapEx estimated at $170B, below the previous $190B expectation. Its proprietary AI stack could improve computing efficiency and reduce infrastructure costs. Maia 200 delivers up to 1.7x more tokens per watt on selected workloads, while Maia 300 is expected to deliver 40% better efficiency than leading GPU-based systems. Engineering improvements also increased Copilot workload throughput by over 50% QoQ. Cybersecurity and AI Governance Agent 365 registered more than 50M agents, up over 30% QoQ, expanding centralized monitoring and governance. Microsoft Purview audited 7.6B+ agent activities, up 5x QoQ, reflecting growing enterprise AI security requirements. Margin Pressure Despite strong growth, Microsoft Cloud gross margin declined to 66%, with management expecting approximately 65% next quarter. Overall gross margin declined 1.3 percentage points YoY to 67.8%, primarily reflecting a higher contribution from infrastructure-intensive Azure revenue. My View Microsoft is building a full AI stack, combining cloud infrastructure, proprietary chips, AI models, agents, and cybersecurity. I believe its investments are strengthening its economic moat, although rising infrastructure costs and gross margin pressure deserve attention. At 11.3x EV/Sales and 25.7x forward P/E, sustained Azure growth and improving AI efficiency will be important.

$FTNT Fortinet: Billings Accelerate 29%, SASE and AI Security Drive Growth. Why Did Shares Fall 26%? Fortinet delivered a mixed Q3. Shares declined 26% following earnings, reflecting concerns about slower service revenue growth and future guidance. Revenue increased 20.5% YoY to $2.08B, decelerating from 25.6% in Q2. More importantly, billings grew 29.2% YoY to $2.34B, significantly outpacing revenue growth. RPO increased 18.9% YoY to $7.98B, supporting future revenue visibility. SASE Firewall billings increased 31% YoY, outperforming management’s estimated market growth of approximately 16%. Operational Technology (OT) security billings grew nearly 40% YoY, supported by demand from manufacturing, transportation, and critical infrastructure. AI-driven Security Operations billings grew 15% YoY, reflecting growing adoption of automated security workflows. Fortinet is also expanding into AI data center security, benefiting from demand for high-performance firewalls, network segmentation, and protection of AI workloads. Total contract value from deals exceeding $1M increased 51% YoY, demonstrating strong enterprise adoption. Management reported that pricing increases contributed approximately 10 percentage points to billings growth, supported by higher-priced FortiGate appliances. Non-GAAP operating margin expanded to a Q3 record of 38.2%, despite gross margin pressure. FCF increased 52% YoY to $865M, while adjusted FCF reached $912M, representing a 44% margin. Service revenue grew just 12.6% YoY, compared with 36.9% product revenue growth. However, service billings increased 26% YoY, suggesting stronger underlying demand. Delayed service activation and enterprise contract consolidation are slowing revenue recognition. Gross margin declined to 79%, pressured by higher component costs and a larger hardware revenue contribution. Management’s Q4 guidance implies approximately 15% revenue growth, below Q3’s 20.5%. Fortinet delivered strong operational results, supported by accelerating billings, AI security demand, and improving cash generation. However, service revenue conversion remains the key metric to monitor. Management expects service growth to improve in 2027, but slower recurring revenue monetization and a hardware-heavy sales mix create uncertainty. At 11.1x EV/Sales and 36.3x forward P/E, sustaining growth and profitability will be important for valuation.

$NOW ServiceNow: Solid Q3 Results, Accelerating AI Adoption, and Strong Q4 Outlook. Why Did Shares Fall 18%? For ServiceNow, Q3 was a noisy but fairly good quarter, despite the 18.1% stock decline following the earnings report. $NOW RPO and cRPO growth in constant currency exceeded revenue growth, and RPO growth accelerated compared with Q2. Q4 cRPO growth guidance of 18.5% is below the 19.5% guidance issued for Q3, which ServiceNow exceeded by 0.8 percentage points. This was a relatively small beat, similar to the modest revenue beat in Q3. In Q2, ServiceNow exceeded its cRPO growth guidance by 1.9 percentage points. If ServiceNow beats its Q4 guidance by 1.4 percentage points, the average beat over the past two quarters, cRPO growth would reach 19.9% YoY, approximately in line with the current 20.3% YoY growth. However, Q4 cRPO growth guidance is still lower than the guidance previously issued in Q1 and Q2. It's also important to note that ServiceNow is transitioning from a seat-based pricing model to a hybrid model, making RPO a noisier metric as part of its revenue increasingly comes from consumption-based pricing. Armis is expected to contribute 1.75 percentage points to Q4 2026 RPO and subscription revenue growth, comparable to the previous Q3 forecast, which included a 1.75-percentage-point contribution to subscription revenue growth and 1.5 percentage points to RPO growth. Excluding the Armis impact, and assuming ServiceNow delivers a similar 0.3% revenue beat in Q4, revenue growth would reach 21.35% YoY, above the 20.7% YoY growth recorded in Q4 2025. New large customer additions in Q3 were higher than a year earlier and approximately in line with Q3 2024. Non-GAAP operating margin was approximately in line with last year, despite declining gross margin, primarily due to lower S&M and G&A expenses as a percentage of revenue. FCF margin also improved. ServiceNow's AI business continues accelerating. Now Assist adoption increased across IT operations, employee services, CRM, and security. Production agentic AI consumption increased more than 13x YoY year to date, demonstrating growing usage beyond initial licensing. Management expects AI to represent approximately 30% of total ACV by 2030. For ServiceNow, the transition to a hybrid pricing model is important, and it is progressing successfully, ahead of management's expectations. Acquisition integration creates execution risk, although management noted that early cross-selling is already visible. Management also reported that Armis, Veza, Moveworks, and Logik.ai are performing ahead of acquisition expectations. On the negative side, EPS came in below analysts' expectations, and ServiceNow delivered only a modest revenue beat in Q3. Gross margin declined to 77.3%, although the sequential decline from Q2 was relatively small. Net margin also declined. Management raised full-year guidance only slightly, by 0.1%. Overall, ServiceNow delivered solid Q3 results, with strong guidance for the next quarter and a Q4 2026 non-GAAP operating margin forecast of 32.0%, supporting the view that operating margins are stabilizing. Management remains optimistic about long-term growth, and the transition to a hybrid monetization model is progressing successfully.

$GOOGL Alphabet: Cloud Revenue Surges 103%, Operating Margins Expand. But Can AI Growth Justify Record CapEx? Google delivered a strong Q3, with revenue growing 24.7% YoY to $127.6B, slightly exceeding analyst estimates by 0.2%. Gross margin improved to 59.7%, while operating margin expanded 1.3 percentage points YoY to 31.8%. However, free cash flow turned negative at $9.1B, driven by record $51.4B quarterly CapEx. Google Cloud was the standout performer. Revenue surged 102.6% YoY to $30.7B, accounting for 24.1% of total revenue. Cloud operating margin expanded to 36.2%, up from 23.7% last year. Backlog reached $561B, providing substantial future revenue visibility. Google Search revenue grew 12% YoY to $63.4B, although growth decelerated. Management reported its fastest query growth in five years, supported by AI-powered search. YouTube advertising revenue grew 9.2% YoY to $11.2B, while subscriptions increased 11% to $14.3B. Gemini reached 1B users, with API usage exceeding 32B tokens per minute, up more than 4x YoY. Despite improving operating profitability, net margin declined 13.4 percentage points to 20.7%, partly due to an $8.2B net other expense, primarily reflecting an unrealized SpaceX investment loss. EPS fell short of expectations by 29.8%. Management maintained 2026 CapEx guidance of $195B-$205B, with further significant increases expected in 2027. My Take: The market was disappointed by GOOGL's modest revenue beat, EPS coming in below analysts' expectations, and an even more negative free cash flow in Q3. stock drop -10% after ER. Revenue growth in Google Search and YouTube Ads slowed, but both gross margin and operating margin improved YoY. Meanwhile, Google Cloud revenue growth accelerated to +102.6% YoY, and its operating margin increased to 36.2%. Overall, I believe $GOOGL delivered a strong quarter, despite the market's negative reaction. Full earnings review in my newsletter. Link in bio.
