The dude trying to trash Bitcoin doesn't understand something that negates his entire argument about an asset being "backed." Being backed simply means it can be expected to be exchanged for something of value, and is only a statement of trust in a contractual agreement. His implicit assumptions are that a centralized system is needed to enforce or enable or carry out the "backing," or exchange. When the gold standard was in place, you could expect to exchange US dollars directly for gold specie. But what if you went to do this, and it got refused? Like when Charles de Gaulle announced his intention to exchange France's U.S. dollar reserves for gold on February 4, 1965. That contract was broken. So where was the "backing?" Oh that's right, in his mind, as a belief, merely trust that the rules of the contract would be upheld.

Patrick Stewart. Turned up so early and so unobtrusively to be a star in the reasonably priced car, we mistook him for a delivery driver and asked him to go round the back. Took his hat off and said, “But I’m the captain of the Enterprise”. Fucking nice guy.

I honestly get a real kick out of the 'can't you leave pump alone?! it's been sooooo long already!' crowd. I was convicted on baldfaced lies by each of the founders at pump, after they called the cops on me giving away a bunch of their money they stole from you all - whether by your well-informed decisions, or by flat-out misrepresenting the scale of the losses you all face each and every day, and manufacturing your consent, this much remains to be seen. Let's table that for now: they called the cops. They then, each of them, lied over and over to the police as both my accusers and in their signed witness statements, and so I went to jail. I sat in jail. For 10-11 months, then, most of that time in what UK news calls the UK's worst jail, I sat in jail. For 23 hours a day, every day, I sat in a cell in a jail and brooded. You see, when you put a criminal away it's so they can sit and think about how naughty they've been and decide they don't wanna be naughty again. That's how it's supposed to work on paper. I sat in the same jailcell for 23 hours a day, every day, and brooded and wondered why I was in jail at all and why I didn't get a medal, lol. And you all saying 'ohhh it was 2-3 years ago, why not get past it' seem to have no idea what it is like to sit in the same box for 23 hours a day, every day, and know you shouldn't be there in the first place and honestly wonder why you're there. The worst part? I didn't even realize how badly and malignantly the three of them lied to the police and the courts in their witness statements until October 15th, when they said the exact opposite to another court of law. And so, yes, I am suing them. The long and short of it is: don't be silly, I'm not going to just forget the serious and persistent losses I've sustained. I spent too much time, 23 hours a day, every day, wondering why I was sustaining those very losses, to just sit here and go 'ahh yea, oh well.' That is all.

This would normally seem obvious, but given current trends I see on this app it might as well be said: Be like Jean-Luc Picard. An articulate, thoughtful, responsible, assertive commander who wakes up every day thinking about the wellbeing of the people on his ship and their mission. Not Anakin Skywalker. An emo, selfish, violent person who couldn’t for the life of him articulate what he’d do ahead of time or why, and asks for more power. The fact that he’s trending now says something about those trending him.

I see that a large percentage of people completely misinterpreted this. Anyone trying to take this for more than face value is reading too far into it. One emoji is not worth dogging on someone, people. The mob mentality on this platform is illogically insane sometimes.
Elon, have a lot of respect for you, but bad time to troll. Please stop. Our SPCX shares (from our $500m investment in your Twitter takeover) are worth more than a billion. Would appreciate if you show a little support. Thanks!

He's reimbursing, but randos are giving him shit for making the ethical choice to do the appropriate/right thing? If you're one of the people trolling, you should check your own ethics before you question someone else's.

A developer with mental health issues saw underage girls being exploited on the platform, reported it, got ignored, and lost his mind. He's doing 6 years. The platform that ignored the exploitation raised $600 million. That tells you everything about who this system protects and who it punishes. The infrastructure isn't just financially broken. It's morally broken.

If you missed this last week, I wouldn't be surprised, but it's some of the most objective market alpha you'll find compared to many of the degen social media whales.
Not every on-chain metric survived this Bitcoin cycle. Some nailed the major turning points. Others gave signals that never materialised. I sat down with @_Checkmatey_ to review the evidence, challenge the old favourites and identify what matters for the next move 👇🏼

WE AUDITED ALL 58 FOREIGN-BORN FEDERAL JUDGES SITTING ON AMERICA'S BENCH FOR LIFE. I spent over a billion tokens and about 45 days on this deep dive. Through this deep dive and the over a million court cases we have combed through, we have launched an American First Index (AFI) for the site. (More on it as we improve the metrics and refine deeper.) Out of 58 sitting foreign-born Article III judges, 43 were appointed by Biden or Obama. Among those drawn from ACLU and public defender pipelines, border enforcement is blocked over 80% of the time and 60% of criminal sentences fall below federal guidelines. We have added an interactive tool on bench receipts that allows you to drill down and look at how each of these judges behave on the bench. This is just the start. The federal judges are easier to identify than the state level judges. I assume there are 100s if not 1000+ foreign born or first-gen American on our benches. They do not judge on our laws, they judge on the culture they came from. This is a huge reason our country has lost its identity.

Opting out of volatility is a proper way to mitigate pain. Living an even-keeled existence removes the “Candlesticks”. - That’s why people follow the ‘rules’ - They go down the conventional path. - Study, get straight As. - Go to the right schools. - Get a cushy job. - But never reach for more. They’ve removed the volatility… - So their life gets boring. - There’s no excitement, emotion, passion. - There’s no skin in the game. (They’re not putting anything on the line.) Here’s the truth…Removing volatility is the CORRECT path for most. The Big UPS & the Big DOWNS are fatal for many. It’d literally kill them. A steady line. Their gut intuition is smart, so they stick to it. They intuitively know they can’t handle it. The volatility digs deep, it hurts, & you’re never 100% prepared. The opt-in for stability deserves its majority representation in society. Anything that represents pain, and uncertainty are rightfully reserved for few. The worst part is the FEAR. The expectations hurt worse than the reality. Once you experience the trough, you’ll find even the worst outcome is not as bad as expected. Pain tolerance is proportional to growth ceiling. If you opt out of the volatility you will be able to mitigate the depth of your suffering, but is that a proper trade for a persistent slow-burning suffering? Maybe you don’t have that inner-voice. The one that keeps pushing you. Driving you. Most don’t. Is that it, or is it an opting out of the pain found on the path? Remember…Fear: False Expectations Appearing Real. The cushy normal path is easier, but if you go down that path for the next 20-years will you be able to say: “If I die today I wont have any regret. I went for it. I did it.“ and rest easily? If you can’t expose yourself to loss, you’ll never experience the greatest of wins. The losses aren’t that bad. So just go for it. Experience it. Take the leap.
Everyone has conviction when prices are going up. Volatility is where you find out what you actually believe. On the latest Flip The Stock Market, we discuss drawdowns, conviction vs. denial, and why holding is harder than buying. Watch: youtube.com/watch?v=Hd8ZH6yD…

The shine on candy corn is bug resin. Brach's calls it confectioner's glaze. The bag reads sugar, corn syrup, then 2% or less of salt, dextrose, confectioner's glaze (shellac), gelatin, honey, artificial flavors, sesame oil, Yellow 5, Yellow 6 and Red 40. Shellac is what a lac insect leaves on tree branches in India and Thailand. It gets scraped off the bark, cleaned, dissolved in alcohol and tumbled over the candy, and it dries into the same hard coat that goes on a hardwood floor. That's the shine, and it's why the pieces don't glue themselves together in the bag. The gelatin is pork or beef collagen, there for the chew. The honey Brach's puts on the front of the bag is under 2%, behind the salt. Bags on shelves this fall list Red 40. Last year's listed Red 3, which FDA pulled from food in January 2025 with a 2027 deadline. Brach's says it makes about 7 billion kernels a year.
