After founders Hari Menon and Vipul Parekh stepped away, new CEO Amit Nanda, an ex-Amazon India exec, has been handed the mandate of hitting profitability.
BigBasket is slashing its footprint from 76 markets down to about 40 cities that operate profitably.
The plan is a cluster strategy in big cities with denser user profiles, instead of spreading thin across markets.
BigBasket clocked Rs 9,900 crore in FY25 revenue but losses widened to Rs 2,000 crore.
