I condemn in the strongest possible terms the dastardly and heinous attempted drone attack against the Holy Site of Makkah Al-Mukarramah.
The people of Pakistan are saddened and perturbed by this outrageous act. There can be no words strong enough to capture the depth of anguish and sorrow felt by us at this reprehensible and unforgivable act.
We salute the extraordinary vigilance, courage, and professionalism of the Royal Saudi Armed Forces, for their swift and heroic action.
I once again call upon all parties to exercise maximum restraint and to step back from the brink of further escalation. Our region has already suffered far too much from conflict. Dialogue and diplomacy remain the only sustainable path towards peace.
Pakistan stands unwaveringly, shoulder to shoulder with the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in the defence of its sovereignty, and territorial integrity, as well as for the security and sanctity of the Haramain Sharifain - a duty that every Pakistani carries close to their heart.

Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar @MIshaqDar50 spoke with Ambassador Rafael Grossi, Director General of the IAEA and candidate for UN Secretary-General, late last night.
They discussed the evolving regional situation and agreed that implementation of the Islamabad MoU remained the best course of action to defuse tensions. Ambassador Grossi offered technical support should the need arise.
DPM/FM reaffirmed Pakistan’s enduring commitment to advancing the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and to respecting international law and treaties.
DPM/FM also highlighted the crucial importance of the UN system in realizing the global peace and development agenda. He wished Ambassador Grossi well in his campaign for the office of UNSG.

I was pleased to speak with my dear brother, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, this afternoon.
I reiterated Pakistan’s strongest condemnation of the recent Houthi attacks targeting civilian and economic infrastructure in the Kingdom, and conveyed our complete solidarity with the Saudi leadership and our Saudi brothers and sisters. Such reckless actions threaten regional peace and stability, with serious consequences for the global economy and energy security.
I deeply appreciate His Royal Highness’s wise and sagacious leadership during these challenging times. Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, DPM Ishaq Dar and I will continue our efforts to help defuse tensions and advance peace and stability in the region.

On the 78th death anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, we pay tribute to the Father of the Nation, whose leadership and historic struggle led to the creation of Pakistan.
His vision gave the Muslims of the subcontinent a distinct political identity and a sovereign homeland where they could live with dignity, freedom and equal rights.
We reaffirm our commitment to Quaid-e-Azam’s principles of Unity, Faith and Discipline, and to building a peaceful, prosperous and inclusive Pakistan that reflects his vision for the nation.
The best tribute we can pay him is to work together to build the Pakistan he envisioned.

The two Ministers reviewed bilateral relations and regional developments of mutual interest.
They reaffirmed their shared position on Palestine and support for the joint statement by the eight Arab-Islamic countries on the UK’s decision to ban imports from illegal Israeli settlements and restrict services linked to such settlements, as well as the Joint Statement on the Two-State Solution by the UK and other European countries.
They also emphasized the importance of maintaining close consultations on regional matters including through the Regional Four (R4) framework with Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
The two leaders agreed to meet on the sidelines of the forthcoming UNGA in New York.

The UK and 11 other countries today announced their support for trade sanctions targeting illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank.
All EU Member States agree that Israeli settlements in the West Bank are illegal under international law. The Israeli Government’s settlement expansions in the West Bank are undermining the prospects for a viable two-State solution.
The EU remains the largest donor of humanitarian assistance to Gaza and the West Bank. We remain firmly committed to supporting a comprehensive, just and lasting peace based on the two-State solution, with two states living side-by-side in peace within secure and recognised borders.
