The Panthers can’t stop the run at all and allowed 250 on the ground last week. But the Pack have struggled to run the football and will also be using a couple of back ups on the OL. This is a litmus test for the GB run game facing the league’s worst unit and now with a healthy Jacobs. It’s been mostly the downfield pass attack or bust for the the Packers and this is one area where the Panther D has held it’s own. You’ll see a lot of shell coverage designed to prevent the chunk play and force GB to matriculate the ball down the field on longer, more sustained drives. Panthers dealing w some big injuries in the secondary and I’ll be keeping my eye on how that back end holds up early as we know Love is going to challenge them w the deep ball.
But GB has loads of injuries on D as well with starters Cooper, Hargrave and Franklin all out. DC Gannon has done a terrific job of implementing effective game plans despite being shorthanded. We think Car can have just enough success on the ground to reduce this game by a couple of possessions and perhaps even pull off the upset. I think Tet McMillan will be featured tonight and play a prop or two there, decision later. For now, we see the value on Panthers at over a FG
