Ending last night in Fort Kent and St. Agatha and starting this morning in Caribou and Presque Isle was the perfect way to conclude our All of Maine bus tour. Finishing this campaign where I grew up, in places and with people who mean so much to me — I could not be more thankful.

The forest products industry provides so many good-paying jobs that support our communities and are crucial to our local economies. Yesterday, I visited the Irving Sawmill in Ashland, Twin Rivers in Madawaska, and ended the day at S.W. Collins, my family’s 6th-generation small retail lumber business. It was great to meet the teams that support these important employers.

More from trail in Patten (about 800 residents). Ppl in this community were excited to see Sen. Collins. One man asked me if he could just walk up to her. I said I think you can. He went on to take pic w/ her. Collins will have to do well in this region to hold on to her seat.

I loved visiting K&T Fire Equipment in Island Falls today — they build fire trucks for our fire stations so they have state of the art equipment to respond to any emergency. They’re currently building a new fire truck for Belmont Fire Department after they lost a truck in the tragic Searsmont explosion earlier this year.
I am proud to be endorsed by the @IAFFofficial and Professional Firefighters of Maine and will always advocate for funding and policies that support our first responders.

Family owned and operated farms like Lajoie Growers in Van Buren are such an important part of our state’s economy and agricultural heritage. Thank you for having us and for all you do for Maine — including growing delicious Caribou Russets!

I was so proud to champion the Social Security Fairness Act to ensure retired public servants like Brian in Ellsworth receive every dollar of the benefits they have earned. I will always fight for Maine's dedicated educators, public servants, and retirees.

When COVID threatened the very future of our small businesses, I wrote the Paycheck Protection Program that saved 250,000 Maine jobs. York, like so many other counties in Maine, was particularly vulnerable because of the high number of hotel and restaurant jobs. I did what I always do - I put Maine first, I went to work, and I came up with a common-sense solution.

Across the state of Maine, I have seen public safety facilities with outdated equipment, deteriorating facilities, and bays too small to accommodate modern vehicles. Our first responders deserve safe, modern facilities that allow them to do their jobs effectively.
That need was especially clear in Milo, where the town's fire and police departments were housed in the century-old town hall, which had serious structural and safety deficiencies. I helped cut the ribbon on the new Milo Public Safety Building this week, which will provide much-needed upgrades for the town's fire, police, and public works departments.
I was proud to secure nearly $6.4 million in federal funding to help make this important project a reality — the largest single award I have secured for a public safety facility. Over the past five years, I have secured nearly $87 million to build, expand, or modernize 45 facilities like this across Maine.

It was wonderful to visit with Mainers in Brewer and Ellsworth today as we continue our all of Maine bus tour. It’s always a pleasure to stop by L.L. Bean, founded in Maine more than 100 years ago.
