The undeclared emergency that India has been living under for months has now taken a more formal shape at Jamia Millia Islamia.
The University has effectively been shut down until 13 January - 78 days from now.
For what crime?
For students demanding their fundamental constitutional right under Article 19(1)(c) to form associations and unions - including an elected student union.
This is what the BJP’s fear of dissent looks like. This is what its hostility towards young people looks like. When students demand their democratic rights, the response is not dialogue but repression.

1. The online classes will be held till 24th November, 2026
2. Teaching (Odd Semester) through online mode shall end on 24th November, 2026;
3. The End Semester Exam of all Practical, Field Work, Project Viva, Minor Project Viva, etc. through online mode shall be conducted w.e.f. 25th November, 2026 to 30th November, 2026;
4. End Semester Exams of theory papers shall be conducted through online mode w.e.f. 1st December, 2026 to 24th December, 2026;
5. The Winter Vacation for the academic Session 2026-27 shall be observed w.e.f. 25th December 2026 to 12th January, 2027;
6. Even semester classes shall commence w.e.f. 13th January, 2027"

In Amethi, the BJP's “star” actor is still smarting from being electorally decimated by someone they subjected to cheap personal attacks.
Now, Vote Chori seems to be their answer to winning the constituency - and finding stable employment for the actor who has been forced to struggle again :
The names of 138 Amethi residents were deleted from the final voter list despite appearing in the draft roll. That is how desperate the BJP is to improve its fast-dwindling electoral prospects.
Much to their dismay, the Allahabad High Court has questioned the government over these omissions.
Everything will be remembered. Every injustice will be answered for, through the full force of the law.
