Spot on.
#BREAKING Supreme Court holds that the 24-hour deadline for producing an arrested person before a magistrate begins from the moment of actual detention, when liberty is curtailed, and not from the time of formal arrest.
Justices Ujjal Bhuyan and Atul S Chandurkar hold that detention beyond 24 hours violates Article 22(2). Court sets aside the Tripura High Court judgment and orders bail for the accused in an NDPS case, subject to conditions imposed by the Special Court.

“India’s theatre commands need political direction, not endless military deliberations.
Theatre commands are not about redistributing service turf. They are about how India will fight future wars, which will increasingly be joint, multi-domain and technology-intensive.”

#WATCH | Dehradun | On Agniveer service tenure extended by two years, Lt Gen (Retd) DP Pandey says, "Whenever a new policy is implemented, it is natural that adjustments may be required during the process of refining it. It is essential to evaluate the policy to identify any shortcomings or areas that need further strengthening; this involves adopting a practical approach. I believe the decision taken today by the government—specifically the Cabinet is a step in that direction... This is a positive move, reflecting a well-considered decision..."

"Political activities like dharna, hunger strikes and practices like Sathyagraha have no place in a Constitutional democracy," says Kerala High Court, quoting a 2017 precedent.
HC says students indulging in such activities in an educational institution are liable to be expelled.
HC makes these observations while setting aside a single bench's interim order which had allowed 16 suspended students of Sree Sankaracharya Sanskrit University to appear for semester exams.

Pollution levels are SEVERE in several parts of Delhi.
Also, NO SUCH THING AS ‘GREEN CRACKERS’
They are simply 30% less polluting.
So those vulnerable should exercise caution, and care for family members. #Diwali

“India’s ‘Armed Forces Vision 2047’ must move beyond aspirations to organisational and operational change. A properly empowered Unmanned Systems Forces Command could provide the institutional impetus, provided it is not reduced to another headquarters or allowed to fragment combined-arms warfare.”

I think too much is being read into it.Its just a question of poor timming. The Govt is correct in reclaiming govt land. The Golf course was an encroachment on non-defence,govt land.Though the ministry could have ensured that the servey takes place 1 Nov onwards
Is this the BJP government's way of punishing the Chief of the Indian Air Force, Air Chief Marshal A. P. Singh, for raising uncomfortable questions in the national interest?
Since assuming office on 30 September 2024, he has repeatedly raised red flags about India's defence preparedness and the government's strategic and operational shortcomings concerning the Air Force.
Some of the key concerns he has highlighted include:
- India's growing capability gap with China
- The gap between government promises and ground realities
- Delays in indigenous defence production
- Questions over the government's commitment to *Atmanirbhar Bharat* in defence
- Critical capability gaps in the IAF
- Shortcomings in defence research and development
- Shortages of skilled talent in the defence sector
If a decorated Air Chief Marshal raises legitimate concerns about India's defence preparedness, should he be penalised for speaking the truth - or should the government act on those concerns?
Is this how a nation honours its heroes?

❌ A digitally altered video is being circulated with fabricated remarks attributed to Lt Gen Girish Kalia, claiming that China has taken control of Asaphila, Longjou and Taksing Circle in Arunachal Pradesh and that the Indian Army has been denied essential supplies. The misleading video attempts to portray fabricated statements as a leaked admission by a senior Indian Army officer.
✅ The video uses #SyntheticGeneratedInformation to falsely attribute remarks to Lt Gen Girish Kalia. The original footage relates to a press briefing delivered by then GOC 28 Infantry Division, Maj Gen Girish Kalia, in Kupwara, Jammu & Kashmir, on 27 October 2023. He addressed infiltration attempts across the Line of Control, reporting 10 foiled attempts, the elimination of 27 terrorists and the recovery of warlike stores and narcotics. He made no such statements about Chinese control over Arunachal Pradesh or denial of supplies to the Indian Army.
