"Veno-venous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and damage-control laparotomy in acute care surgery patients: A safe and successful option for patient rescue"
In acute care surgery patients, concomitant VV-ECMO and DCL/OA achieved 50% survival, similar to outcomes with either therapy alone. Anticoagulation use higher RESP score predicted survival, supporting combined use when clinically indicated.
