How did the team not know when I was in communication with two of them that we would have to leave at some point due to other engagements because the debate had not started on the communicated time?
APOLOGY | IOL would like to extend a formal apology to the EFF Joburg mayoral candidate @drtlaleng Mofokeng for an incorrectly worded caption published last night during the IOL Town Hall Discussion at the Joburg Theatre. Dr Mofokeng did indeed indicate to the moderator, IOL deputy editor Lee Rondganger, that she would leave at 6pm as she had prior commitments, and this was accepted. However, this was unknown to the social media team covering the event, leading to the unfortunate caption that was published. IOL immediately removed the posts once the matter was clarified during a debriefing session.
We apologize once more to Dr Mofokeng and the EFF.

I also arrived 40 mins early and finished a SABC interview and once done by 15:30 we tried to enter they told us we can’t access the rooms yet because other panelists have not arrived. I asked HQ to ask the person who invited us to please let them know it’s raining and it’s cold. We did enter at 15:54 and I said holding room is unnecessary as we’re due to start and I said it means we will start late however I’ll need to leave at the time of 18:00 the two hour mark and that I’m here and we should start. We started late and the moderator was just a spectator even when audience was soooooo disruptive. We begged him to intervene and he failed to even do that. So angazi ke.
