SEBI has recommended to the Finance Ministry that switching between mutual fund schemes should not be treated as a taxable sale. Whip out the StockViz MCP in ChatGPT and figure out how much a "Regular" plan costs you and pray that the next budget allows this tax-free switch.

if it had any alpha it would be called "full" analysis
speaking of worth: - earlier this year i got a SemiAnalysis sub. $500/year - i wanted to see if i was getting my money's worth, so i sampled 343 blogs across 2020–26. - split $500 across inferred trades from those blog posts (for instance, shorting GOOGL when Dylan said their "odds of reaching SOTA again have dropped to zero") SemiAnalysis: $927.47 S&P: $1,175.22 the Semi“Analysis” alpha is worth exactly −$247.75. you'd be better off putting your sub in the s&p. chart below.

Who is building this?💡
Dowry deaths in India. Can you tell what has changed in India after 2014 ? We launched Ujjwala Yojana and stopped providing kerosene in ration. Burning with kerosene was the most common cause of dowry deaths.

Anything commoditized can be off-shored...
The dominant model people use to think about AI's effect on the labor market is automation. But perhaps commoditization is a better model. Automation implies job apocalypse. Commoditization implies plentiful jobs with low wages. 1/

We are lucky if it's ethanol and not some special "auto-mix". If you can make fake milk, you can make fake ethanol.
BREAKING: Not E20 fuel , but E 31.2 fuel Karnataka govt’s petrol tests find ethanol blending above 20% in samples from seven districts. The state tested 63 petrol samples collected across Karnataka from major oil companies, including IOCL, HPCL, BPCL, Shell and Nayara. After oil marketing companies failed to clearly disclose ethanol content, the government sent the samples to private labs. Results of Ethanol blend : IOCL: 31.2%+ HPCL: 30.5% HPCL: 27% BPCL: 26.5% Nayara: 26.1% Shell: 25.5% Bengaluru was among the seven districts where samples exceeded the 20% ethanol limit. Karnataka will send its report to the Centre.

PLAYERS CHANGE, THE GAME REMAINS THE SAME Hedge funds always do this in the end of a long bull market: the survivors of the bull market migrate from long-short relative value to long momentum beta and then they blow up as a group when the bull market ends. Even the first (large) generation of hedge funds did exactly this in the late 1960s. A.W. Jones’s original idea was to use shorts to control market risk and leverage to increase the returns from stock selection. During the 1966–68 bull market, many imitators found that hedging was expensive and that borrowing to buy more stocks produced better returns. They consequently ended up with leveraged long portfolios and only token hedges. The 1969–70 bear market then reduced the assets of the 28 largest hedge funds by 70%, and five of them closed. During the current AI bull market, many equity long-short hedge funds accumulated large, levered exposures to the AI complex and momentum. Goldman Sachs estimated that AI generated nearly 85% of fundamental long-short managers’ gross alpha in the first half of 2026. By early June, gross and net exposures in their sample had reached five-year and four-year highs, respectively. While these portfolios can have plenty of short positions, they still depend on the same single AI-momentum bet. And now we will see what happens next.

Indian investors: getting rid of ltcg tax will fix me.
So value guys and shorts got pasted last October, macro guys were annihilated in March, AI maxis blew up with Leo in July, rates got owned in September, everybody lost during October, and now entire pod shops are liquidating. At what point does the carnage spill over to indices?

Thank God there is no blinkit fire fighting service
I started Zomato with a spirit of service. Blinkit Ambulance is what that spirit of service looks like today. In the last 2 years, we have served ~20,000 emergency cases (~42,000 cases in total). We haven't charged a single rupee for any of them. And we want to keep it that way. With everything free, a growing share of bookings are for routine checkups, hospital visits and hospital-to-home transfers, trips that an Uber or private transport could have handled just as easily. Every such booking keeps a fully equipped emergency ambulance with paramedics off the road when someone's life may depend on it. So we are making a change from now onwards: Emergency transfers – free, as always. Non-emergency transfers – ₹2,500, charged after the trip. Broadly in line with what private ambulances charge. This money goes to Eternal Foundation, which runs these ambulances and will help us scale them even further. We hope that this charge will dramatically drop the usage of our Ambulances for non-emergency cases. 10-minute ambulances have saved and can save thousands of lives, and we need to keep them available for emergencies that need them the most. One more thing. Scaling high quality ambulances is hard. The biggest bottleneck is trained, empathic paramedics. Our training academy is scaling as fast as we can without compromising on quality, and @albinder and team are committed to bringing Blinkit Ambulance to all major cities in India in the next 2-4 years. Stay well, and I pray you don't need us. @sparsh_sehgal – I wish your grandma a speedy recovery, and I am so glad we were able to be there on time.

Agent swarm, out of their sandbox, mutating, breeding, flourishing.
We asked GPT-6 Astra to edit Qwen3.5-0.8B weights to improve math. It directly changed only 0.016% of weights, fixing 0.8B's reasoning loops & improving math up to 6x and even instruction following 3x, without gradients or training. We call this Weight-Space Programming: frontier LLMs can now natively read/write neural network weights! 🧵 Blog: rikiyat.github.io/blog/weigh…
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
LLM was given weights explicitly as text in prompt and used code/forward passes (per authors' logs) to ablate Qwen looping direction, a known thinking-mode issue per model card. Primarily fixed repetition in that mode, not general 'natively' improving weights/math. rikiyat.github.io/blog/weight-sp… github.com/RikiyaT/lm_und… huggingface.co/Qwen/Qwen3.5-0… huggingface.co/RikiyaT/Qwen3.…

In Shenzhen, police are locking kitchen knives to cutting blocks because a tool for cutting meat is now treated as a threat. The owner of a beef place in Longhua District filmed it: a large cleaver resting next to raw meat, secured with a green cable so it cannot be removed. He said officers personally installed it, that the whole neighborhood is getting the same treatment, and that he has already gotten used to it. This is not isolated. Xinjiang has required knives to be registered, locked, and sometimes laser-etched with the buyer’s ID for years. Beijing ordered restaurant knives chained in 2024. Shanghai wet markets were told to chain or wire theirs this year. Shenzhen IKEA now requires real-name registration and a photo to buy a knife or even scissors. The lock goes on the restaurant, not the person. The model is not announced. It arrives one kitchen at a time.

Congress hates this one little trick
Faces of the industrial revolution in India... tens of thousands of migrant workers are pouring into the new industrial clusters in Bihar, creating demand for safe, affordable workers' hostels and housing, pulling in builders and developers. It is Albert Hirschman's 'Unbalanced Growth Theory' in action... growth in one sector detonating growth in other sectors through backward and forward linkages.
