Precision timing is the backbone of reliable positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) systems, but it’s also where failures can first occur. When GNSS signals degrade or disappear, even tiny clock errors can lead to major navigation drift.
This whitepaper, published by SiTime, explores how advanced timing solutions improve resilience, enabling systems to maintain accuracy through interference, harsh environments, and outages. From MEMS-based oscillators to multi-source data fusion, the future of PNT is about redundancy, trust, and other factors.
As reliance on PNT grows across industries, building robust timing architectures is no longer optional; it’s essential for safety and infrastructure continuity.

.@SiTimeCorp has officially completed its acquisition of @RenesasGlobal's timing business, creating a much broader timing portfolio spanning AI infrastructure, communications, automotive and industrial markets.
The product portfolios are highly complementary, expanding both the company's technology breadth and customer reach. It also strengthens SiTime's position in a timing market that's becoming increasingly strategic as higher-performance compute platforms demand ever tighter synchronization, lower jitter and greater reliability. 👇👇

GPU under-utilization is a well-understood bottleneck in large-scale AI training (and inference), often surfacing at the epoch level where inefficiencies compound across cycles.
@SiTime is targeting this challenge with its Elite 2 Super TCXO, high-precision timing chips designed to improve synchronization across GPUs and accelerators. Tighter timing can reduce drift between nodes, enabling more consistent throughput in training, while also supporting determinism and power efficiency in latency-sensitive inference workloads.
Timing is just one piece of the equation alongside networking, memory bandwidth and software orchestration. But it’s a reminder that improving AI efficiency isn’t only about raw compute, it’s also about keeping the entire system synchronized and productive at scale.
This should be solid new incremental business for the company and it'll be interesting to learn of customer adoption rate and any success stories that come out of this for $SITM .
