Cet incident rappelle l’impĂ©rieuse nĂ©cessitĂ© de protĂ©ger les journalistes qui, chaque jour en HaĂŻti, prennent des risques considĂ©rables pour informer et tĂ©moigner. Il est d’autant plus regrettable que des journalistes, au service de la population et prĂ©sents prĂ©cisĂ©ment pour relayer sa dĂ©tresse, deviennent eux-mĂȘmes la cible de certains de ceux dont ils portent la parole. Pris Ă  partie et maltraitĂ©s, les travailleurs de la presse ont Ă©chappĂ© de justesse Ă  leurs agresseurs en se rĂ©fugiant dans le commissariat de Kenscoff. Leurs matĂ©riels de travail ont Ă©galement Ă©tĂ© endommagĂ©s lors de l’incident.
