As we recognise Consent Awareness Week, we want to remind Calgarians that consent must be given by all parties before engaging in any sexual activity. Consent means agreeing to sexual activity, including kissing, touching or intercourse with another person.
Sexual contact with a person is never acceptable without clear, voluntary & specific consent.

1/ OUR NEW REPORT: EQUITY REDUCES EXCELLENCE. Jason Arday was not an aberration. He was a feature, not a bug, of a system that replaced merit with identity. Our new study of nearly 2,000 prestigious Canada Research Chairs provides the hard numbers. š§µ
The biggest AI tell across social media is: "That is not X. That is Y." It's usually near the end. What's unfortunate is this is ruining otherwise legitimate, natural use of this phrasing ā much like the em dash. It's not only annoying. It's changing the very way that we write!

The numbers tell a troubling story.
According to government health records, approximately 60,000 Canadians reported injuries following COVID-19 vaccination, including roughly 11,000 classified as serious.
About 3,500 people applied to the Vaccine Injury Support Program. Approximately 3,000 applications were accepted, but only 252 people had received any form of compensationāapproximately 0.4% of the reported injuries.
The true number of injured Canadians may be much higher.

Canadians were told they had a choice about whether to get injected. But for many, that āchoiceā meant getting kicked out of university, losing their jobs, and not being able to travel.
Consent obtained under threat of financial and social ruin is not free consent. Many Canadians may want to turn the page on Covid. But those who paid a heavy price in health and dignity, and the families of those who lost their lives after getting "safe" injections, deserve to be heard. The Allison Inquiry is giving them a voice.
In a free society, the rights to conscience, life, liberty, and security of the person must be protected. Those rights were severely violated. This conversation is long overdue.
Carrie, thank you for your willingness to attend the Allison Inquiry and share the experience of your Covid-19 vaccine injury with @DeanAllisonMP and other Members of Parliament.
We also would like to encourage Canadians to contact media organizations and urge them to attend the Inquiry from September 8ā11 on Parliament Hill. The testimonies of Carrie and other Canadians deserve to be heard, documented, and shared with the public.

How far can a professional regulator go in punishing the legitimate expression of opinion made outside the workplace?
You may have already heard about Amy Hamm (@preta_6), a mother of two, who was disciplined by her regulator and subsequently lost her job as a registered nurse after more than four years of disciplinary proceedings for expressing legitimate opinions about biological sex and womenās sex-based rights.
It all started in September 2020 when Amy co-sponsored a short-lived Vancouver billboard that simply said āI ā„ JK Rowling.ā That act of solidarity with a writer defending womenās sex-based rights triggered complaints to the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives that Amy was transphobic and stoked hate speech against gender-diverse communities.
The College responded with an investigation into public statements that Amy made between 2018 and 2021, resulting in a 332-page report and more than 20 days of disciplinary hearings that stretched over years.
Disturbingly convenient timing for a statement like this to come from Toronto Police, while feds ram through legislation that would eliminate anonymity.
Toronto Police say young people are being recruited through messaging apps to carry out shootings at Jewish schools, synogagues, and at the U.S. Consulate and have to record their crimes to be paid.
But police don't know who is behind the scheme ctvnews.ca/toronto/article/aā¦

Protecting kids online is a worthy goal. But if the only way to enforce a social media ban is mass age verification, behavioural tracking, and biometric surveillance for everyone, we should ask whether the cure is becoming worse than the disease.
