It's time to announce my May Charity marathon beginning TOMORROW! This month we will be raising money for the Skin Cancer Foundation!

More of my reasoning for selecting this charity:
In May of 2025, my girlfriend was diagnosed with stage 3 Melanoma. This past year has been incredibly difficult navigating that while having a job as someone who has a public personality every day, but I'm grateful to say she's been consistently getting better every week for months now.
Early on in this process I had never had anyone in my life who had skin cancer before and I didn't know much about it. After some google searches I found the Skin Cancer Foundation, thought it was a fantastic organization, and reached out to them about joining tiltify so I could fundraise for them. The marathon I did last year somehow raised over $34,000 dollars.
Since then I've continued to be involved in their organization, most recently being interviewed and having a section in their annual Skin Cancer Foundation journal they put together. It was an honor to talk about how incredible our community was during the fundraiser.
The Skin Cancer Foundation focuses on prevention, education, and awareness, and my favorite thing they do is something called Destination Healthy Skin, a free skin cancer screening & education program that's a mobile bus which travels all over the United States.
On Friday the 22nd, the final day of this marathon, I'll also be joined by the development coordinator for the Skin Cancer Foundation, Melanie, to answer any questions about Skin Cancer and prevention along with being able to share valuable information about what the Skin Cancer foundation does!
On a personal note, I'm very excited because this Marathon will also take us all the way to run 9,999, finishing our nearly 8 month sprint to do our 10,000 speedrun live at TwitchCon EU in less than 2 weeks :)
I personally will be donating 1 dollar for every run that I complete, along with an additional 5 dollars for every run under 20 minutes. See you there!

๐ Skin cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in the United States
Each year, more people are diagnosed with skin cancer than all other cancers combined. This highlights the scale of the public health challenge and the importance of prevention, education and early detection efforts.
Improving awareness of risk factors and encouraging timely clinical assessment can significantly reduce morbidity and improve outcomes at a population level.
During Skin Cancer Awareness Month, we are supporting the campaign led by The Skin Cancer Foundation @SkinCancerOrg to advance awareness, education and prevention of skin cancer.

Today's #MelanomaMonday. Take it from someone who had skin cancer removed beginning of last year with another scare this year, getting regular checkups and monitoring your skin is so important. Awareness is everything, and it's treatable if caught early. #skincancerawareness

As May approaches, please remember that it is National Skin Cancer Awareness Month! As a two-time melanoma survivor, my scars remind me to use SPF 100 (yes, it goes up that high!) and wear a hat every single time I'm in the sun! Please remember to get regular and frequent skin checks from your Dermatologist and be your own advocate. If you notice a mole or skin spot changing in color, size, or shape, please get it reexamined as soon as possible. It may just save your life! #ExposetheTruth not your skin #SharetheFacts #SkinCancerlsSerious Social Media Toolkit available via @SkinCancerOrg

PSA: Wear sunscreen and get your skin checked.
Iโm grateful to the incredible medical team at Walter Reed Medical Center who recently fully removed basal cell carcinoma (BCC) from my face.
Iโm relieved to be cancer-free, and I want to share my experience to help raise awareness for you and the people you care about.
It started as a small, pearl-colored, dome-shaped lesion on my nose. After a biopsy, it came back positive for BCC.
Fortunately, BCC is a very common and typically slow-growing form of skin cancer. My dermatologist removed it using Mohs surgery, a precise technique that ensures all cancerous tissue is eliminated.
Following the surgery, a plastic surgeon reconstructed part of my nose using cartilage from behind my ear and a local skin flap to restore the area.
Like many people, there were plenty of moments in my life when I spent time in the sun without sunscreen. That was a mistake. Consistently using SPF 30 or higher and getting regular skin checks can go a long way in preventing this.
Working from home today, catching up on Landman, watching the 2027 Super Bowl Champion NY Giants play the Washington Commanders, and hanging with my awesome wife.
Please encourage your friends and family to wear sunscreen and see a dermatologist regularly. Early detection matters. ๐

Alright Iโm still in a bit of shock but want to keep you all updated. A few weeks ago I went in to a dermatologist for an annual skin/mole check that Jess proactively scheduled for me. There was a mole on the bottom of my foot that they wanted to remove just to be careful. It came back as melanoma, but they are optimistic that we caught it in the early stages. I had another dark spot appear near it, so today they biopsied that and removed a larger area around the melanoma with the hopes that under the microscope they will see clear non-melanoma edges and we will know we got it. Iโm grateful to have hope in finding this early, but please take this as a PSA to get skin checkups.
