BIG JET

Kelela is proof that chasing your dream has no expiration date. She didn't release her debut mixtape 'Cut 4 Me' until she was thirty. Now forty-three, @kelelam is still finding new listeners. On Apple Music radio, she spoke about the assumption that if you haven't made it by nineteen, you've missed your window. She shared, "I think we live in a culture of prodigiousness—if you don't do it out the gate, if you're not standing on a stage by the time you're 19, it might be over for you...I'm definitely proof that it's not over, guys." Pushing past that feeling, she said, took real courage. Kelela is here to tell you that no one is too old, or too young, to make it happen. Pick up the mic, the MIDI, the instrument, etc. The time is now.
